Just a simple question, because I wanted to know who could I could potentially play with or against. I won't have a PS3 till Christmas, but I checked it off anyways. Everyone I assume is posting from a PC, so I didn't include that either. Besides, the specs vary wildly, so being able to play a game on my PC may not mean you could play it on yours, and vice versa.
PS2 and PSP. I play them in fits and starts. Haven't played the PS2 for four or five months. Played the PSP about a month ago. Before that, the last time I'd played it was February or March. I still have a PS1, but it's in storage.
PS2, Xbox, Xbox 360, DS, GBA, Dreamcast (for Samba Di Amigo), Gamecube and PC. I miss my PC Engine and Splatterhouse
PS2, Xbox 360, SNES, NES I don't currently go online with any of them, though I used to play Metal Gear Online with my PS2.
I highly recommend you play Resistance Fall of Man. Play it online. It is absolutely the best first person shooter ever made. I've played Halo 3 now and Resistance blows it out of the water. Even the PS3 online multi is better than Xbox Live is for Halo 3. I can't wait for the next installment of GTA as well. I've got a Silver PS2 Slim line(which I'm gonna sell as soon as someone on Craigslist makes a reasonable offer), PS3, Wii, original xbox which I'll also sell on craigslist, and the grand daddy of them all, an NES and about 50 games for it. Despite having 50 games for it the only game that matters is Super Tecmo Bowl 1991 edition... which is the greatest football game ever made.
PS1 - Seldom used. PS2 - Frequently used. Since my Pioneer DVD changer malfunctioned on me, the PS2 is the only CD/DVD player I have in the TV room. Super NES - Seldom used. N64 - Seldom used. Also, a couple different versions of the Game Boy Advance that I haven't funked with in a LONG time.
If you don't use those Game Boy Advances you should sell them on craigslist or to game stop. I sold my GBA and 4 games to gamestop for $60. They are worth a surprisingly high amount for a dead piece of tech.
The GBA is still one of the better systems out there. In terms of the sheer number of games, and the amount of games that got 5-star reviews. The GBA SP is still being sold at Wal*Mart for about $80.
Xbox 360 that i don't really use maybe more then twice a month and a pink DS lite with brain training. For real gaming i use a PC.
Back in the day I had an NES and then a Sega Genesis. About a year ago I picked up a Nintendo Gamecube for cheap along with 2 Wavebird wireless controllers and about a dozen really good games at bargain bin prices. I might eventually get a Wii. But I'm in no hurry. I've got plenty of games to be busy with.
NES, Genesis, SNES, N64, Dreamcast, Gamecube, Wii. GBA, GBA SP Oh and PC Shame on Scorp for not including PC in the poll!
Um, everyone has a PC, if they are posting here. There are some exceptions, like if you are posting on a PS3 or a PSP, but I'm speaking for the vast majority. And just because they have a PC, it doesn't mean it's a gaming machine. Some people are on such piss poor PC's, they probably can't even run Starcraft. (Like Diacanu's old computer) I have a Wii, and I hardly play it at all. It's usually PS2, PC, PSP, or more recently, Nintendo DS. The Wii is seriously not worth getting. It's great for when you have friends over and want to screw around for a bit, but other than that, I've used the thing maybe a total of 10 hours since I got it as a present for my birthday.
I guess I should not have included Xbox and Xbox2 as choices, because they are essentially PC's as well.
I would venture that there are lots more people here who play PC games than PS3 or 360 games, the info is useful for others as well. I have PC, Wii, GC (Through the Wii but the Wavebird still the best controller ever), Dreamcast, Megadrive, NES. Still not decided between 360 or PS3.
I have used it way way more than that. The Wii is great, you don't have to have friends over to enjoy it. I play sports games on it all the time because they are just better, especially Golf games.
The Wii has a crapload of shovelware, but some truly awesome games as well. To be honest the system is worth owning for Metroid Prime 3 and Mario Galaxy alone.
I still want to try both of those. I have to wait till after Christmas shopping to see if I can budget them though.
