I got lots of DVDs that I wanted and did not even expect, and the wife has been super nice so far, nice cozy fire in the fireplace, cats lazing about, some nice warm jacket sweater thingys. One of the DVDs is a set for Space Above and Beyond which I really liked when it was on TV.

Comfort and joy.

Got a Sony DSC-W35 Cyber-Shot (or to you and me a Digital Camera) and a Floating Duck Radio for the bath.

Books, book tokens. We did a silly over dinner secret santa. Other half, who has had a No 0 for the last 15 years, got a hairbrush

Several shirts, buncha DVDs (Troy, Jericho Season 1, Veronica Mars Seasons 1 & 2, Heroes Season 1), new watch, some flannel lounge pants with penguins in santa hats on them, a confetti cross-cut shredder, and some hockey tickets!

Oh yeah, and a new golf bag! Can't forget that!

Got a PS3 from my parents, an external hard drive from my cousin, several games from various people, including MySims, Folklore, and Contra 4. Also bought myself a 24" LCD monitor. GF got me the Blu-Ray Underworld and Pearl Harbor. I am hooked on 1080p! Still have yet to open 3 more, one of which I suspect is gonna be a PSP-Slim.

Well, I upgraded my computer right before Christmas, so that was part of the deal.

So a 500 gb external USB2 drive (no eSATA on this box), an extra gig of RAM, and a shiny new Nvidia 8600GT graphics card.

On Christmas day I got most of what I asked for - Fatal Revenant by Thomas Covenant, A Call To Arms revised (a B5 wargame), two RPG books I wanted (Nehwon and Granbretan from Mongoose).

Also I thought it would be a cold day in hell before I ever asked for socks. But I needed socks.

And my feet are very thankful for the ones my wife got me!

Damn, I must be growing up a little!

parents got me some lynx anti-perspirant (i sweat lakes...), i got myself a wii, a new TV to go with it (i've used 14" portables for around a decade as i don't watch a lot of telly, so getting used to a big 37" bugger will take some doing) and a trip to a hair removal clinic (my back alone makes a wookie look bald)

Too many fabulous things to list, books, nifty Lands' End shirts and so on, but the best was this:

I had finally thrown out my old, ratty A-2 leather jacket, which I'd had since the early 90s — it saw me threw a couple of divorces, career changes, all kinds of good and bad times. It was chewed up and the zipper finally failed and it didn't seem like there was much of anything that could be done with it. I loved it, but it seem sensible to keep it lying around.

The wife, for our 10th Christmas together, retrieved it when I was looking apparently. Yesterday, I opened a package, and there it was, not just good as new, but better than new. I was absolutely stunned.

Made me thankful I stepped up with both diamonds (The Journey) as well as a photo album chock full of pictures of our life together (Much scanning and Photoshop clean up was needed for that project).

A new set of dishes, a sleeping bag and pad, a vest, two desk calendars, the animated Pink Panther series, money and a leatherman kick.

It was a good year.

Parents got me a $100 gift card to Best Buy, gf got me a leather messenger bag, gf's parents got us a new printer/scanner and a book about California wine country, gf's sister got me a shirt.

Mostly just got gift cards from the parents of the kids in my class, a few new books from my close friends, and my son will stay with me for the next 4 days! That's it for me!

Clothes, boots, etc. etc. etc. The usual.

However, the GF knows the way to my heart. She got me The Simpson's Movie, Battlestar Galactica: Razor, the John Ford/John Wayne Cavalry Trilogy: Fort Apache, She Wore a Yellow Ribbon, and Rio Grande, John Wayne's Rio Bravo, Hondo, and The Searchers, and...this.

I that woman. I really, really do.

Mass Effect, booze, cooking stuff (including a new steamer), Terry's Chocolate Orange, Lynx shower gel, set of ties (?!) and assorted aftershaves/shaving balms.

And a Jamie Oliver Flavour-Shaker, which I agree with the guy on Amazon.co.uk about - Jamie only uses one instead of a pestle & mortar because he spits when he talks.

I got a food processor.

I immediately made me a shepherd's pie.

Where did you find the lamb? I never see it at any of the supermarkets I go to.
