http://www.paradoxplaza.com/rome/?p=quiz Pompey The highly distinguished roman general and political leader, who successfully extended and pacified the eastern provinces of the Roman Empire. Despite being one of Caesar's closest associates the two fell out after Caesar opposed the senate and Pompey came to the lead the opposing faction in the civil war that followed.
Philip V The king of Macedon who was determined to regain some of the long lost Macedonian glory by extending his influence in Greece and its surroundings. Unfortunately for Philip his neighbors didn't see things the same way and asked Rome for help. With the Romans interfering Philip's initial success was soon brought to an end and any further advances effectively stopped.
Pyrrhus The determined king of Epirus who was set on conquest but never really managed to bring much result. Even though Pyrrhus won several battles against the Romans he never managed to establish himself in Italy and the cost of his victories was extremely high, thereby the expression "a Pyrrhic victory".
Mithridates VI The king of Pontus and one of the most formidable opponents Rome would ever face. Through several successful campaigns Mithridates managed to expand his kingdom to include most of Asia minor and even reached as far as Athens before the Romans managed to drive him back.
[-]Latin "haud" kinda looks like French "haute" meaning "high," meaning highly agree. At least that's how I figured it.[/-] EDIT: Whoops! I was waaaaaaaaaaay wrong. Haud is "not at all" and etiam is "yes, certainly." [-]And I wound up as Philip V of Macedon.[/-] Gotta retest.
Antiochus III The great king of the Seleucid Empire, some might even say the greatest king of the Seleucids. Despite inheriting an empire in decline Antiochus managed to defeat the Ptolemies in Egypt, subjugate the Parthians and even restore some of that lost glory enjoyed by the previous Seleucid kings. J.
Another Sulla here. Sulla was pretty intense. He could have been Caesar, but retired instead of setting himself up as tyrant. Kind of like George Washington with a really bad attitude.
You are: Nicomedes IV The king of Bithynia and close ally of Rome but apart from that there's not much to be said about Nicomedes. Bithynia served more as a battle ground during his reign than anything else and Nicomedes was forced to flee to Rome repeated times to avoid the forces of Mithridates VI until Rome took matters into their own hands and restored Nicomedes to the throne.
Eh. I'm afraid I'm completely unimpressed by this quiz. The questions are badly worded and ambiguous and the result they give me is some guy I've never heard of. On another note, I've often toyed with the idea of making one of these quizzes for "What 'Deliverance' Character Are You?" and having it so, no matter what you answer, you come up Ned Beatty.
And you call yourself a Stargate fan... I got "Etiam" just from that first ep where Jack gets the Ancients' knowledge downloaded into his head.
