YES! Of course you're free to disagree. You'd have to argue that the Taliban wouldn't be a problem and just move in when it's done. Go!
I guess when you find out you were wrong....its the ol'....'get back on topic guys.' Keep it up. Now you BOTH look like fucking retards.
I don't see "Don't piss off the Taliban" when I read this. I see "It's difficult to effectively plan for the future when there are people who are going to be intent on blowing up whatever you try to create." That's how I read it, but then, I'm not looking for a fight with anyone.
We're way beyond that now. Her original post implies that she would halt progress in the face of terrorism, well, just because you don't want to piss people off. Plus, she forgot what she wrote, and then denied it later on.
I just got done reading through it all, and Azure and Brock are the only ones who remained constant. Maybe some people should go back through and read the progression again. She changed her story.
I read her original post this morning, and I saw exactly what I said above. Just because you and Bock chose to see "Cass is afraid of the terrorists!" doesn't make it so.
Oh God. Thats 3 people that are acting like fucking retards in this thread. I did not 'chose' to see that Cass thinks Afghanistan should stop progress because the Taliban might blow shit up. SHE SAID THAT. And then later on she completely changed her story.
Indeed. I guess if you just want to keep skipping over the OP...the case is closed. Maybe you can flip-flop your position like she did.
I read the OP this morning. The only part where she mentions the Taliban is the line I quoted in my earlier post. I do not interpret it the way you do. Is there something I'm missing?
Sigh. Top of the page. I said she explicitly said that it would be a problem if the Taliban were around, to which she responded saying 'yes.' I guess you must have missed that part too.
Okee. Okay.... do you dispute that developing a long-term plan for new construction might be problematic due to the continued presence of people who'd rather see those projects blown up? That's what Cass was saying. She didn't say that the plans should be cancelled because of that, she just pointed out it'd be a problem.
She said it'll be a problem because apparently there is a full blown civil war going on over there. I guess you missed that part too. And no, considering how far Afghanistan has come so far, I don't think it will be a problem. You shouldn't halt progress in the face of terrorism, or else they've won. Get it now? Or do you need a little more help?
See, this is the problem. He can't get around the idea of *who* said it to look objectively at *what* is being said.
According to Cass she never said any of it until page 3 where she finally admitted to it. Oh well. Keep it up.
Okay, I'm going to try this exactly once. I want you to clear your mind of Cass, Afghanistan, Wordforge, and all other distractions and objectively - without thinking about who "they" are or what the "project" is - translate this sentence for us: "Such a project would make them really mad."
Indeed. Apparently it would piss them off and they'd start bombing the shit out of Afghanistan. Because, well...you know, none of the shit going on over there right now is making them mad. But planning....just PLANNING....for the future....well they CAN'T do that because it would piss off the Taliban. God.
I wouldn't call it a "full-blown civil war," but that's a discussion for anoter thread. How does past progress negate the problem of people wanting to blow shit up, as long as those people are stil alive and active? Indeed, and no one is suggesting progress be halted. One person is suggesting progress may be difficult, but no one is suggesting progress be halted.
You know, I've read that OP probably as many times as you have, and unless it's written in invisible ink, I don't see where it says "they CAN'T do that." Really. Show me where it is.
Of course. Lets just take the 'reason' there 'would' be a problem planning 30 years into the future, and discuss it in another thread. Are you fucking stupid or something? Don't you think that the left over remnants of Taliban forces in Afghanistan don't want to blow shit up...'now?' You know, with all the 'progress' going on? Apparently Cass thinks they shouldn't progress....because they can't. Somehow all those Taliban are creating a problem. Full blown civil war abound. Better tell Harper. He'll want to know. But hey, keep on evading.
What the fuck does that have to do with anything? Afghanistan is planning ahead into the future, be it 10, 20, 30, 40 or 50 years....and Cass thinks it can't be done, for whatever reason because there is a full-blown civil war going on. Why can't they? Is Afghanistan destined to fail or something? Because this whole idea of the pissing the Taliban off is ridiculous. You don't think they're pissed off now?
