Improvement will be gained through the equal application of the rules. If you let this infraction pass without penalty, this place will erupt into a shitstorm.

Garamet has spent the last several months making enemies and then outing them on the board. If she comes back, it'll get nasty.

TNZ actually became bearable for a week or so, when she had been banned a month or so back. Not so much anymore.

You have made the right decision here--a fair decision in which it was possible to draw a straight line between the action and the rule, not just once but twice. Thus the excuse that she did not know the rule is bullshit--she got in trouble over Kirk, so she knew what she was doing when she did it to Peter.

Open and shut case, Elwood. Don't be so hard on yourself. You've made a fine decision, and any recriminations would come from those who would let their own bias prevent you from maintaining a sense of order here.

Don't second guess yourself when there's no need.

Dude, I was watching "Music's Freakiest Concert Moments" and fuckin' Madonna kissing Spears beat out Hendrix setting his guitar on fire.

I was pissed. As a matter of fact, a lot of shit beat it.

The whole show ended up being "World's Most Awesome Concert Moments," which is why I was pissed.

I think I saw that. I usually leave my TV on VH1 classic and I saw something about them. I didn't know there was a Hendrix part because I usually just go numb and pass out for a bit whenever I see that old skank Madonna.

    It's like a reflex.

Well, wouldn't ya know it - I spend 2 hours on a reply (not just addressing the garamet but everyone here almost individually...and my personal feelings [mostly positive] towards some of you - Tamar, Lethe and about 2 dozen others.

Then I accidentally hit the [x] button and it all goes away.

Now, Firefox saves ALL that stuff, so it should be no big issue, but for some reason it saved *everything* but that! It's gone, as far as I can see.

I just want to say I like and respect Tamar and her decisions, but I also really like garamet and hope this banning is only temporary.

I would NOT consider myself one of garamet's "flying monkeys". While garamet has been NOTHING but super nice to me while I've been here, I still sometimes can see how her responses can come off as snobbish and rude. At least "put-offish". And I shake my head at them. Even when I agree with them - I disagree with how they are worded.

But I also see people often *troll* her on purpose, and try to instigate fights with her, "call her out", and even respond in a knee-jerk fashion too harmless posts by her, or responses to her.

It's all become sport around here.

It's been a two way street (and not in a good way like the old CSN album) and the drama is taking up WAY too much time and space. It needs to END. Period.

But still, I think WF has lost too many member already, and I hope this is just a temporary punishment ban.

And I also predict, as much as I like most of you, that
if garamet was permabanned tomorrow, then some NEW personal drama, and vendetta, and "issues" would just take her place.

Some of us here just need to learn to let go. All around.

So lets just relax and chill out.

And my email is 03dashk64_at_gmail.com, [the "dash is *spelled* out, btw] if garamet wants to talk, anyone here who knows her please pass it along - in fact, if you are lurking and see this, I'd like to chat a bit and see how you are doing, as a friend.

Or if Tamar or ANYONE wants to talk, just write me (I can't always promise an *instant* response, but I will ASAP).

    So peace out everyone, 'kay?

People who get all pissy about other people on Teh Internets are taking it all wayyyyy to seriously. Especially if they go through all the trouble of hunting down info on the net about them just to try to play one up on them.
That's when it's a good time for them to take a break.

That second option seems a little misdirecting. From where I sit, Garamet has pretty much been on the defensive and outnumbered. The "Public Figure" name game required a decision other than indifference from the staff. While she took a running leap over the line, there could have been a seemingly more balanced ruling to allow her similar liberty in the name calling. I.e.; A first names limitation.

Or am I getting this all wrong and Cass is actually Jack's dual since day one?

Why should people who don't want to share their names here, have to, in order to appease a person who willingly made their identity public all by themselves??

We know each other's names, but I would hope you would not be posting it here as I would not post yours until you reveal it yourself.

Peter doesn't want to reveal or use his real name here....so he didn't share it. Garamet did share hers....and even used it as a "selling point" for the board.

Do you not see the difference here?

As an aside to this...I would like to point out on at least two occasions I stopped speaking to Garamet at all, hoping to ease things a bit and to test the waters...and what happened is she made passive-aggressive attacks, backhanded remarks, mentioned my name in threads where I wasn't even posting, "predicted" imminent attacks from me and tried to lure me back into shit.

My stopping did not stop her. And I know I am not the only person this has happened to.

She is not some innocent martyr people pick on for no reason. SHe gives as good as she gets and often more.

Garamet started some of the drama, but her "enemies" were pretty relentless at times.
If they had all ignored each other, there wouldn't have been a problem.

So, I hope she comes back, but I hope she just ignores everyone she argued with instead of going on and on about what crappy trolls they are.
And I hope the "crappy trolls" will ignore her for a while too.

I'm getting really fucking sick of the drama. :garamet:

You know, with all respects to Tamar ( Tamar   ) but I'd think if I could I'd change my vote to option 1 - the poster above is right, IMHO, I just don't exactly 100% agree with the way that option 2 is worded.

Well, it's not like Cass or Garamet are permabanned. We've hardly seen the last of them.

Though Garamet's been banned from WF and Trekbbs in the last few months. Obviously she's letting it get to her.

Mods: *Can* my vote be changed?

If so, please kindly change it to option 1. (Not saying I 100% agree with it either, but I dislike the wording of option 2 more and more.)

And if not - it can't be changed - no biggie either.

    THANKS!

Sympathetic? I can't think of anyone I disagree with more on anything political. I'm just not going to waste my time debating with her. Why should I, I'd never change her mind and she'd never change mine. I'd rather spend my time finding things in common to discuss.

She's a natural troll, she's a strong woman with a sharp wit and a sharp tongue. Sometimes I laugh, sometimes I sigh and roll my eyes.

As far as the using real names thing? Thats a tough one. I can come up with at least a dozen devious ways to get around the rule as it stands, but I'm not gonna give away ALL my secrets.

Anytime you have exceptions it's probably gonna cause more problems than it's worth. Why not just say "no real names of posters at WF, first or last, unless it's in their username"?

Put down the pot for a few minutes and let the haze of smoke clear..........

There are plenty of examples of Garamet going into threads and then "waving the red cape" in front of everyone in regards to Kirk, Peter, or others when they were not in those threads.

Garamet was more then capable and in fact did go on the offensive time and again.

How the hell this degenerated into both Cass and Garamet getting banned is amazing.
I'm still trying to figure out why Cass decided to jump on the hand grenade.

Someone once said the loss of even one poster here was a deminishment and I have to agree. Oh, don't get me wrong, some are just plain asshats and needed to be culled (not quite done there IMHO) but these two have been a big-big part of the community here. I just wish they hadn't pushed it so hard as to break it.

Personally, I think Cass did it on purpose because she's going on vacation or is otherwise going to be too busy to post here. I recall other posters (Storm? Jeriko?) getting a "ban" in such a manner because they didn't want WF to interfere with RL.

It's much more dramatic than having your account locked by request as some have done. ;)
