He's too obvious. The poll should have not included him.

Wesley should have been fucking dead.
I don't like any of his episodes.

Geordi had almost no character development through the 7 seasons, but I kinda liked the character.

Dr. Crusher just... I dunno... I didn't really care if she lived or died.

I would have liked Tasha more if she had been there for more than one season.

BTW, I LOVED the Lwaxana episodes. :P

I actually liked Wesley. I do wish he wouldn't have been so super genuisey, and I swear to God that's a word, but he was okay. For me it was Tasha Yar. Oh, I think Denise Crosby made a huge mistake by throwing out what would have been a solid career in a prime series, but I like Worf as Chief of Security and never felt right with Tasha there. When I watched it during the first season, I felt that the Klingon helmsman should have been kicking ass on the aft deck.

At least Wes got some touch every now and then. I don't dislike any of them, but Guinan gave me no reason to like her more than any of the others.

Data was good in the series, but I suspect that was because I originally watch TNG as a kid and was in awe at the super-human abilities he possessed.

I found him annoying as hell in season one, most of season two, and easily seasons five through seven. Let's not even talk about the films and that dumbass emotion chip. So, in essence, you have a character over a seven year series that was interesting maybe for two and a half seasons. IMHO.

Imagine if you will, a modern day nuclear aircraft carrier. For laughs, let's say it's the U.S.S. Enterprise. Over a thousand feet long and carrying many aircraft and bombs, the carrier is truly the "big stick" of American diplomacy. So important is the carrier, that the first question any President facing a military emergency is likely to ask is "Where are the carriers?"

An aircraft carrier takes years to build and costs billions of dollars. There are only a handful of shipbuilders on the planet capable of taking on such a monumental task as building a carrier. Carriers are the biggest assets the United States Navy have at their disposal.

Command of a carrier is reserved for a few proven people. To be responsible for so vital and valuable an instrument like a carrier, one must be able to demonstrate steady performance and discipline over many years. Command of a carrier is not given lightly, and the realities of the captain's job are such that even small errors can become international incidents, embarrassments to the Navy, and career-ending events. A man who commands a carrier is a man with superior judgment.

So, our U.S.S. Enterprise pulls out of port to patrol the oceans of the world, to put pressure on our adversaries and offer reassurances to our allies. Our fearless captain, a man we know exercises tremendous responsibility and wields superior judgment, makes a command decision: his former helmsman, a lieutenant with years of experience and an established track record, just will not suffice for this voyage...

...no, instead he's going to put a 14-year-old civilian boy with no formal training whatsoever at the helm of the most important ship in the fleet.

    Laughable?

Of course...and that's why I hate, hate, hate Wesley Crusher.

The one smart thing that Rick Berman ever did was to have Jar Jar Binks digitally removed from all the temporal cold war episodes of ENT and replaced with Future Guy.

    Dr. Beverly Crusher

As much as the boy annoyed me, his mother was worse. Talk about no personality. I preferred Dr. Pulaski over oh, Wesley be careful on your away mission.

Actually, I had no problem with Wesley other than the aforementioned ridiculousness of his being a bridge officer on the Federation flagship and the episodes where he was a total Mary Sue.

Luwaxanna was hit and miss with me. Though for the most part I didn't care for the character, she did have some funny moments. And the episode where she fell for the alien scientist (played by David Ogden Stiers) who had to return home to die was actually pretty well-acted.

    Pulaski.

Couldn't watch the second season with cringing. The one where she was going to sacrifice herself because of the killer clone-kids was particularly horrific

I thought Pulaski--Dr. McCoy clone though she might've been--was more dimensional than Crusher. Her prejudice against Data and her bickering with Picard made her seem more lifelike than a lot of the other characters...

Pulaski. Dag. You ain't kiddin'. She even had a similar face to McCoy--bags under the eyes and everything.

Actually it's funny. Because I just Googled her up and she looks a lot less like McCoy than I remembered. No kiddin'. When I remember Pulaski, I basically remember a chick with blonde hair but with McCoy's face photoshopped in.

Well it seems stupid when you put it like that. He certainly wasn't the only helmsman. Also, he first took the Academy entrance exam a month or so before his 16th birthday, and became Acting Ensign and one of the conn officers shortly after. And he had already familiarized himself with all the controls and practiced and shit (after getting tired of the holo-porn). They probably wouldn't have even let him touch the conn console without extensive holodeck training.

Yes, maybe having what is basically a Navy recruit training on one of the most powerful ships isn't commonplace, but the NCC-1701-D is not an aircraft carrier. The two aren't really similar, especially since it takes a few helmsman to steer a carrier. Also, the oceans are like electrons in grains of sand compared to outer space. What's there to crash into? Troi crashed the fucking ship more often than Wesley did, and she was a a 40 year-old Commander with over 20 years experience.

Oh God I just defended Wesley. :bash:

Yeah I enjoyed the Pulaski episodes more than the Dr. Crusher episodes. Plus she and Worf could have been great friends by the end of the series.

Wesley was a horrible character right from the pilot. Even when he was gone, the episodes where he came back, he saved the ship because none of the regular crew were up to it. Please. :jayzus:

I liked Doctor Crusher (that whole weakness for redheads thing). Pulaski was okay, tho. Pity she never turned up after the second season of TNG. She could'a been a recurring character like Q or Lwaxanna Troi.
