Margaret banned! Has she worn out her welcome at WF?

When garamet actually engaged in conversation, she certainly backed up her opinions with well-thought out lines of thought.

But, she also has a tendency to 'move the goalposts' of a conversation and go off on tangents that has nothing to do with the original point.

That doesn't make her ban-worthy. But, she knew the rules and did break them.

I didn't interact with Aurora much at all, so I can't say what she did or didn't contribute. I, also, don't know why she jumped on the hand grenade like she did, but she did, and she should have known the consequenses.

But, I don't think either of them deserve the jubilation over their respective bans that they're getting.

It's the WF way.

Garamet gave as good as she got and she was not above starting shit.

No one no matter how annoying is ban worthy and unlike Aurora who has in the past just upped and banned people she didn't like Elwood doesn't ban people for being annoying.

Like others have said she probably just wanted to leave for a while. It's a Wordforge thing. Probably due to the fact that we don't make bans permanent except in a handful of cases. When shes ready to come back (without pictures of course) she will.

Yeah, but you're pretty much known for your ability to see the distinction between the poster and the post. She does it as well, but I don't think people realize it because she's always so caught up in these very personal slap fights.

It often seems she's usually on the defensive because of her ability to work some people into a killing frenzy without actually getting combative. I assume she does it on purpose, but I'm not really sure. I do know that she's pretty easy to get along with if you try.

I liked her alright, but she was the queen of passive aggression. She'd start threads about how she didn't want to cause any trouble or drama, then claim everyone else was starting in on her. Granted, there was something of a vendetta against her, but the best way around that is to ignore it.

She wanted attention, and she's finally being denied that.

On a more serious note, holy shit...I didn't expect expect it to go this far.

I guess I could have let things go....not challenged her as far as Peter's post was concerned, but it bothered me. Bothered me that she was here when Cass got banned, and then turns around and claims to not know WHY she got banned.

I don't 'hate' Garamet....sometimes she can be a good poster, but she has clearly been trolling for a purpose the past few days. She used to go at it with Tamar, but I noticed that Tamar quit(anyone else notice that?)...so she starts going at it with Kirk.

The "clucking disapproval" phrase I coined about her is especially apt.

For the past several months (maybe closer to a year), she'd pop into a thread only to express disapproval for the opinions of others. All the while rarely, if ever, clearly expressing her own.

That's what was so irritating about her: She almost never gave her views on a topic so that you knew exactly where she stood, but then she'd turn around and get mad when people would try to guess her opinions.

I don't condone violence against women, but if she acted that way IRL, I couldn't really blame Jack if he eventually smacked her.

That's why her "Oh, woe is me! The innocent victim of Sokar and his minions! " act didn't fly with most people.

Not entirely on topic, but you know what mystifies me about some posters? Is the degree they get invested into some of these vendettas. If someone bothers you that much, why spend a significant amount of your posting time bickering with them? For me it just isn't worth it. If someone annoys you that much, and you just can't see eye-to-eye with them, just stop engaging them in discussions. And if they bother you so much you feel compelled to respond to them, put 'em on "ignore".

Thats the thing though. Nobody around her bickers with anyone else like Garamet does.

She tried to use you and Maud as an example of two posters who oppose each other, but nobody complains about it like they complain about her fights with virtually everyone on here.

Garamet's problem is that her ego won't let things to. She has to have the last word, and it makes her easy to rile. But she isn't a saint, she's a master of trolling within the boundaries of not getting a warning. Something that is used often over at the neutered zone on Big Blue.

And Elwood, you aren't running off any posters to make the board more right wing. If that was the case, why is LindaR still here, or henryhill, or Dan Leach, or El Chup even.



Harmon Bokai left because we didn't appreciate his "brilliance". POTN left because of a rep war, and Cass broke the rules and got banned the same way Storm broke the rules and got banned and Gul broke the rules and got banned.

Garamet just needs some time away to get some perspective.

I HAVE contacts within the publishing world and have had them for years. I don't talk about them. I'm not published, not because no one will help me (I wouldn't ask favors) but because I'm not yet at the level where my work is good enough to be published.

I've never asked garamet for any favors. We have barely spoken off-boards, and 9 out of 10 times, it's on board business, usually me yelling at her or she yelling at me. The 1 out of 10 times, it might be sharing a laugh at some board stupidity but that is rare. It's not because I don't like her, but I don't talk to many "off-boards" anymore. No time.

I'm not the type to use people for their connections. If I were, there are other people who I've met personally who would fit the bill, but to me, that's unethical and I wouldn't do it.

When the time comes and I'm published (for fiction, I've already been published five times for genealogy books,) it will be because I'm good enough to be published, not because I've sucked up to or used anyone.

I mean, think about it. I've banned Dennis more than once, perma-ed him once, and HE is an author!

She's a shrewd woman who gets into a corner very very easily (a sign she is a dumbass), then tries to lather hot pee-smelling lubricant to weasel out of it.
