I got to thinking today how things have changed throughout the years. See, I totally mesmerized a couple of kids on the parkway. I had a bit of trouble getting my little motorcycle started at home. I had accidentally hit the kill switch and didn't know it. Anyways, I had ran the battery down pretty low, so I decided to kick start my motorcycle up there to save the drain on the battery. Those kids had never seen a street bike with a kick before. Shit they all used to have a kick in case the electric broke down. That is something I have over the big V-twin guys. Real men have a kick start motorcycle and know how to use it.
Oh, and you might not want to post your age here in the Red Room. 14thDoc might use it to insult you later on.
I'll be 42 in September. I think there are some older than me though (oldfella, Lt. Mewa, Linda R., T'Bonz, Bulldog).
I kick the GB from time to time. Sometimes because it pleases me and sometimes because I think it looks cool. That said, you've got to be careful if you're doing it because it looks cool. One big 500cc cylinder can be a bit of a pain in the ass to kick and it doesn't look cool to try a half-dozen times before hitting the starter. Them little Super Cubs you see in Thailand. They're ALL kick-starters. And they turn over real easy. I don't think I saw anyone kick one more than once. And for as small as most Thais are, it's a quick, light kick. For me to start the GB, I get up onto the starter and give it all 170-180 pounds of me and my gear. And it still rarely turns over on the first shot.
