Blue in the face ... spooky pic of shark and head, circled, taken at Hull's aquarium

Dentistry student Emma, of Doncaster, only spotted the ghoulish face when she arrived home.

She said: “My boyfriend said, ‘what’s that?’ I replied, ‘it’s a shark’.

    Spooky

“He said, ‘no, the face.’ I was like, oh my God! It actually looks quite spooky.
    “I’m easily freaked-out.”
Although Emma’s dad Alan, 48, was stood next to her in the glass tunnel, she insists he looks nothing like the man in the photo.
Bosses have spent hours searching CCTV footage, which confirmed the pair were the only ones inside the tunnel.
And they have even tried to recreate conditions in the tunnel where the reflection could appear, but with no success.
The aquarium – on the banks of the Humber estuary – was built on the site of an isolation hospital, where smallpox victims were held.

It’s not the first time ghostly goings-on have been reported.
A night watchman claims to have spotted a shadowy figure in the TimeLine, which charts the history of the world’s oceans.
Colin Brown, chief executive of The Deep, said: “We are a scientific centre and we’re sure there must be a logical explanation.
"It’s just that we can’t find it.
"There must be some sort of optical illusion or reflection of images between the window, but we cannot figure out how it has been done.”

Its just a random collection of shape that happens to look like a face.

Do you know what would be really weird?

If no shapes ever looked like faces in nature.... :)

Random shapes...that's what I guessed too...
because ghosts are afraid of water! :P

Also, trying to replicate the conditions would be tough, with the vegetation always moving and changing shape.

They have faith - they said they're sure there is a logical explanation, but that they just can't find it.

 Maybe somebody meant to throw a body into the Humber and was too mean to pay the toll on the bridge, so dumped it in the Aquarium, instead.
The sharks have probably eaten the evidence by now... ;)

    Couldn't be random shapes.

I've seen random shapes that resembled a face before, but this one is much too sharply defined. There is a very clear nose, mouth, left ear, left eye (complete with eyeball looking towards the camera) and the edge of the right eye just visible beyond the nose, and also a very clear hairline.

This isn't some vague "face on mars" it's a very clearly defined, anatomically-accurate three-dimensional human male face.

I don't know what the cause is (data corruption in the camera's memory card?) but it's definitely a man's face.

That's someone reflection from behind the person taking the picture.

The aquarium security cameras confirmed that nobody else was there when they took the picture.

Anywho, the "human face" pops out at us humans because we're geared to see faces. If I'm walking along a clear lake, I can spot bass instantly, but a non-fisherman wouldn't see them unless I very carefully pointed them out.....because I've seen hundreds and my eyes/brain is wired for it.
