I know the feeling. When a hippie tells me 1 plus 1 equals 2, I can't help but scoff dismissively. After all, the brand's way more important than the product.
Oh, Marso, You need help. I say that in all seriousness and without any malice. You're psychologically disturbed, and quite a bit far from sane. I do wonder if and when the wordforge right is finally going to disown you. They can't be happy about being associated with you when you keep falling off the lunatic conspiracy theory wagon.
I know. That's why I keep bumping this thread over and over. Maybe it'll give Liet a stroke one of these days.
I do find this rather interesting.. http://www.scribd.com/doc/16821062/27-20090626-MOTION-to-DISMISS-Filed-by-Defendants Just look at the weaseling in that document. I am more disturbed by this than anything else. Particularly since the main defenses seem to be immunity from suit, a lack of standing and laughably the too-lengthy list of factual allegations. Why the fuck would anyone spend over a million dollars doing this kind of shit rather than just producing the damn birth certificate?
Whether you think it's all a bunch of crackpot bullshit or not, the fact is that a LOT of people in a lot of places, to include attorneys and judges, are digging into this issue. There is also the related issue of whether Obama aka Barry Sotero (sp?) claimed foreign citizenship in order to obtain college money he would not have been entitled to otherwise. Either way I don't think we're going to see President Biden any time soon, but it would be fun to watch all the riots on TV in the urban centers if Obama was removed from office. It'd be bigger than OJ and Rodney King combined!
This shit is golden for Obama. The longer certain people talk about it, the more his opposition gets associated with the nutcases who actually believe this stuff (who btw wouldn't accept any proof anyway).
Uh, he has produced the birth certificate. Happened a long time ago. A certified copy is valid as evidence to the exact same degree as is the original. In any event, the idea that the original is so critical that only it will suffice as proof is absurdly contradictory to the idea that the original should be tossed around in public rather than sealed in a vault and accessible only on premises under guard. This birther stuff is rabid nonsense that proves the people propounding it to be crazy.
And there are MILLIONS more who would accept the birth certificate - only Obama has decided that he won't produce it because "he doesn't have to." Why should he have to do what every other president has had to do before him: prove he is an American citizen? For some reason the public is supposed to take his word for it.
It was because someone stated that the certified copy wasn't accepted in Hawaii that caused the brouhaha, IIRC, or something along those lines. Thus it would behoove the man to bring out the original, under guard, if needed, to clear the air.
Actually, IIRC the copy Obama provided was a digital copy of some sort, not even a raised seal certified copy, hence some of the Brouhaha. That plus his grandmother has publicly claimed to have witnessed his birth in Kenya. Oops. Guess she didn't get the pre-brief.
Yeah, because in the grand conspiracy to disguise his nation of birth, Obama forgot to tell his grandma to fib for him. And in this grand plan to illegally become the leader of our nation, the best he could do is a fully legal, certified copy of his birth record. Getting a forged original would have required too much effort in this nationwide conspiracy backed by what would have to be hundreds of people. And he figured that not a single conspiracy nut out there would go poking around his past to try to dredge up any pathetic scrap of 'evidence' against his presidency. Yes, all it would take to bring down this fraud that fooled all of America is a few internet detectives. OR! He produced a document legally stating his location of birth, and, just like every other president-to-be, no further questions were asked. That seems a lot simpler, doesn't it? Want to get those Hawaii certificates deemed not satisfactory? Fine - that's the first step. You're trying to skip to King Kandy when you still haven't made it through the Peppermint Forest in the circuitous path of your ridiculous conspiracy.
Fine and good for the legal stuff. But to put a lot of folks mind at ease, he COULD get a copy with the seal from Hawaii and stop the whole noise, couldn't he?
Now you're getting into tinhat territory. For the most part, the folks that are complaining just want to see a real honest to pat birth certificate. Not a digital copy and not just a statement from his grandmother that is a contradiction of a previous statement. THAT's what most sane folks want. That's what most sane folks should be able to get.
Yes, and while folks are busy wasting their time, trying to prove he wasn't born in the US, they can't dig into other issues which would get him in hot water. Am I alone in remembering all the purported documents which were certain to get Bill Clinton tossed from office that somehow never materialized? Or the people who just knew that they'd be able to find proof that W rigged the '00 election and get him tossed out, but somehow never did? The birth certificate is the same thing. So, if Obama wins in 2012, the people who've been wasting their time trying to find proof that he's not a citizen, will have no one to blame but themselves. If they were to spend their time on something important, they might be able to ensure that Obama loses in '12, but so long as they keep tilting at this particular windmill, his re-election is going to be that much easier.
NOT when she has contradicted herself we aren't. One statement swears he was born in Kenya; another in Hawaii. One or the other statement is a falsehood. In any other court of law that would be perjury, no?
