I was always under the impression that only one parent had to be an American. As long as you were born on American soil with one American parent you would be eligible to be President.

The bolded part changes everything. When he presented that computer copy I assumed that was the end of everything. Now for sure we need to see the physical hard copy. Not a computer printed certificate.

Someone needs to leak it but I'd bet it's too late.

yep. He could end all this nonsense in a heartbeat by producing not a computer generated one but the actual physical one which according to Dr. Chiymoi Fukimo, director of Health Department for the State of Hawaii, Obama has a birth certificate on file.

I honestly think he IS a natural-born citizen, but he really needs to produce his real, actual, legitimate birth certificate so that this thing goes away once and for all.

Nor can you ignore the fact that the Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court has said he would look at the documentation given him.

Nor can you ignore the fact that Obama according to Hawaii has a real birth certificate. Obama could end all this nonsense in a heartbeat by producing it yet he won't? Why?

Nor can you ignore the fact that the courts and other certifying bodies certified him based on a computer generated birth certificate that we now know that in Hawaii anyone can get them based on the statement of one relative. I wonder how many of those courts and certifying bodies knew of that little quirk in Hawaii law? That quirk alone makes any computer generated certificate of live birth all but useless.

In the end Obama is going to have to produce his original birth certificate. You and the other Democrats better be on your knees praying that it says he is a citizen otherwise the Democrats will be slaughtered in 2010 or 2012.

I for one hope he is one too because the damage done by him faking his way into office would be tremendous. I don't want the country to go through that.

They won't kick him 'for a birth certificate'. They would kick him if it turned out a man had orchestrated one of the greatest frauds in US history to violate the constitution of the United States for his own purposes.

The whole situation strikes parallels, in my mind, when Romulus Augustulus was forced to abdicate to Odoacer. It was a purely symbolic gesture that was significant only in its blatant illustration of the evident foundational and social rot of the western Roman empire. I'm sure people living on the Italian peninsula at the time were keenly aware that Rome was no longer the empire that built enormous marble buildings and commanded massive armies of legionnaires; the empty ceremony only shined a spotlight on that uncomfortable truth.

Quite apart from the merits of the charges that have been levied - do you reject out of hand that it is POSSIBLE?

And if it IS possible, does it nmot logically follow that a request to see the actual document is not unreasonable?

And if it's not unreasonable, then one has to ask - why is the proof being witheld?

Frankly, I thought for a long time that it was a non-issue but the longer the documentary evidence is suppressed, the more legitimacy the claim gains.

If he is a citizen then there is zero reason not to call up the Hawaiian State Government and order them to release the original birth certificate to the public.

Doing that would instantly squash all arguments that he is not eligible to be President.

Continued stalling and stonewalling will only continue to feed the fire.

If the court requests it? Sure.

The court didn't request it and said it wasn't necessary to prove his constitutional eligibility to be president.

First off courts did request it. That is why he got the electronic issued copy from Hawaii. Of course now we know that particular document is too easy to get because it is can be based solely on the word of a relative.

The chief justice of SCOTUS is reviewing things in that packet he was given. He will probably do nothing in the end but there is a chance he will demand Obama show the original birth certificate to prove once and for all that he is a citizen eligible for office.

The nutjobs are going to be encouraged by his refusal to release the original birth certificate which Hawaii says it has. They are going to catch more people in their net the longer he fucks around and won't release the certificate.

Releasing it enables him and everyone else to ignore the nutjobs because once SCOTUS says his birth certificate shows he is eligible to be POTUS no one in the country other then the nutjobs will say a peep about anything.

The nutjobs are gonna spread theories no matter what what he does but his failure to act and just release the original birth certificate will only embolden and strengthen them.

If they were demanding Obama undergo a DNA test to prove he isn't a changeling, I'd agree. But we're talking about a president refusing to make public a doccument that NO OTHER PRESIDENT has ever witheld, and one that would IMMEDIATELY AND UNEQUIVOCALLY prove once and for all that he was a naturally-born US Citizen.

The fact of the matter is that President Barack Obama is a natural born citizen. If you are going to make the claim that Barack Obama is not a natural born citizen then by the same logic Ronald Reagan is not a natural born citizen as well.
