Ed Newton's vision for the Tucker, called Triclopz or the proposed '52(ish) Tucker Talisman. Either one of those put into production would be fine by me.
One or Two I'd like to see... and yes I know about the G8 but it's not very muscular looking even though i do like it. Maybe with a redesigned front panel to revise the Pontiac branding... Also... The 57 Bel Air is a classic too but I don't know how you'd translate that look to a modern car.
Fuuuck...there's a whole bunch. Just off the top of my head: Mako Shark : This car is 76 Mustang. I was a kid when I first saw a red one, and I've wanted one since. 69 Charger (So I can be the first Chinese guy to paint a confederate flag on the top and a 01 on the side. And yes, I'd climb out through the window.) 84 Jag. I almost bought one of these babies two years ago. I love the exterior, but the interior was really shit. Modern cars have come a long way with their interiors. Not updated per se. If they just copied the exact designs and put in new interiors, I'd go for it.
Fuck, man, where to begin? An unfucked-up Charger. A TransAm. An unfucked-up GTO. Not a classic, but I hate Chrysler for what they did to the Avenger as well.
Watch this video on youtube.comhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4aUm33i7n1U http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lhF4gu87rn0 Either of these concept cars need to be revised and updated, and made available for families of more than husband/wife and 1/2 a kid.
Liz. Did you mean to show the opening to the Jetsons? Although, I would love to have George's car! Sokar, are you serious! Gremlin or Pinto! Well we'll just have to rename the Pinto : DaisyCutter!
I think an update to the CJ-2A has potential in an economic climate that's calling for downsized, multifunctional vehicles you can wring decent mileage out of. It can be the little brother to the Wrangler. Jeep's answer to the Smart Car.
I know youmeant '67, but my sister had a 76 Mustang (II). Easily the Pussiest Mustang ever. I'd rather have a '72. One that looks like my first car. FTFW!
Chrysler Norseman. The only one ever built, the prototype had the misfortune to be shipped to the US on the Andrea Doria.
Many of the cars listed I'd like to have in their original form, updates are fine but given the choice I'd take an old Stingray over a new 'vette any day of the week.
I'm guessing they couldn't do a CJ2 today because it would never pass safety regulations. That said, they're making some pretty large, Jeeplike, utility ATVs these days. If they marketed it as not for road use they could probably do it.
If they can build a street-legal Smart Car, the CJ-2A design could be adapted to pass muster. Sure, it'd have to have fuel injection and smog equipment, sway bars and crumple zones, seat belts and airbags inside a roll cage, but I think it could be done. It's not that different from the modern Wrangler.
