Absolutely nothing else I could add would be worthy of this man's devotion to both God and his country.
A co-worker of mine was a friend of his. He introduced us. I spent the next two years getting to know Mr. Doss. What always got me was his humility. There was nothing fake about it. His family and his friends made a big deal of what he did all those years ago, but he always asserted that he was not a hero and he just did what any other medic would have done under those same circumstances.
