My boyfriend's an Auburn fan. He's ready to vomit.

EDIT--he missed the field goal. Perhaps there's still life left. 2 fumbles and an illegal tackle when you had the N'western quarterback sacked out of range in the last three minutes was a spectacular crash. Nice of the N'western kicker to obligingly miss that last potential game winning field goal and waste all that good fortune.

Whoa. Northwestern quarterback was down. That shouldn't be a fumble.

Northwestern is gonna feel like shit if they don't win it. Never seen a team try so hard to give it away as Auburn.

WHAT. THE. HELL? They tried a fake????? Oh Lord, there'll be no joy in Mudville tonight. My boyfriend's pretty ecstatic, though.

I saw that fake coming, when your starting kicker is hurt 2 plays earlier and you don't have a backup kicker on the roster you may want to just go for it and not even bother with the fake.

Oregon got pwned by Ohio Syate. That game really wasn't that close. :( I wish the ducks had won. This sucks.

Oklahoma State suspends their All American corner back, Perrish Cox for curfew violation. I guess he was out late twice, after being warned.

    Goddammit. :bailey:

Yeah....raise your hand if you couldn't see this Cowpoke meltdown coming from a mile away. :bailey:

Ancient Pat Summerall just now summed it up best - "what else can happen?"

Get ready for yet another Gundy post-game conference laugher.

Leach to OSU? That's probably not looking too bad to ole' T. Boone right about now....

Yep, the outcome of this game is about as predictable as you showing up after OU gets a couple of wins. :rotfl:

Especially if one of those wins is a shellacking of OSU, 27-0. :techman:

So it took 27 points to get you to start posting again? How about a rundown of the losses in your absence? Better yet, why not some commentary on OU basketball in the post Blake era? :itsokay:

On an unrelated note, this ESPN crap is disgusting.

"There's Adam James, who was punished for having a concussion..."

For Christ's sake, he made him sit in an air conditioned room with a television. This is not a rhetorical question: Exactly what the fuck was done to this kid that requires an apology? What is he supposed to have done wrong? Not let the kid practice? What? Was it that the door was locked? I'm not the biggest Leach fan in the world, but this shit is ridiculous. If he'd hit him, I could understand the fuss. If he'd made him practice before he was medically cleared, I could understand the fuss. What is it that James went crying to daddy over? A doctor saw the pampered little brat. He was in no danger at any time.

I don't know if Tex got into town early enough to see this, but when the family and I were headed downtown to see The Lion King early Saturday afternoon, my daughters told me they could see two planes trailing banners over the downtown area that said "GOOD LUCK MIKE LEACH" and "THANKS FOR THE ALLEGED INVESTIGATION TECH."

During the broadcast tonight, they only showed the first banner.

Something tells me I'm glad I couldn't hear ESPNs broadcast.

I didn't see that banner shooter. Flow, I got the pirate in but before the first quarter one of the cheerleaders snagged him for a tv shot and we never got him back. I don't even think they ever used it for a shot. I'm glad Tech won but it shouldn't have been so close with MSU missing 10 players.

On a side note I think T Boone should be considering Leach after that crap OSU pulled yesterday, and all season...

Dude, it was awful. They probably spent a combined 45 minutes talking about it. During a 10 minute stretch of a one point game, they rambled incessantly about the responsibilities of a parent and a coach. I wanted to shoot someone.

Oh yeah, it was pathetic. I ended up switching it for two reasons, one they weren't showing any of the signs and whatnot, it was a total propaganda broadcast. It became apparent there would be no pirate pinata. Add that to the Baghdad Bob Davies commentary and became unwatchable. I did come back for the end.

It was nice to see a real offense. Yesterday's Cotton Bowl was pathetic, Mississippi all but handed the game to us in the second half, and Gundy couldn't put together one series to seal the deal. I think I actually had a dream about Leach coming aboard as OC last night. Perhaps Boone could make that happen. Imagine Leach coming aboard for one year, just so he can stick it to Tech in Lubbock.

I'd love a coaching change, but that's not gonna happen this year. Two nine win seasons carry a bit of weight in Stillwater, no matter how disappointing the last couple of games were.

Now all the people who are staying behind and don't want to get thrown under the bus along with Leach are publicly issuing pro-James, anti-Leach statements, including assistants hoping to stick around for the next administration and disgruntled senior players who have been nursing grudges all season. It all carries about as much credibility as the flip-flopping trainer who one day is trashing James in emails and the next day apologizing to James for the allegedly abusive treatment. :dayton:

It was almost as bad as the on-air fellatio of Tim Tebow the other day. I swear, one of the announcers was nearly moved to tears when the other pointed out why Gator Jesus doesn't have the necessary tools to make it as a Pro-level Quarterback.

Here is one pic from my trip to San Antonio. There is a video out there of me winning a dance contest by using the prop pirate at a bar on the River Walk before the game. But I'm not going out of my way to get it put online.

Why isn't Tebow listed in the top 32 draft predictions? He was the #1 rated quarterback this year. I don't understand this, nor do I understand Chris' post*:

Why wouldn't he make it as a "pro-level quarterback"?

*Note, I haven't watched 1 Florida game this year, so I don't know how he actually preformed.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, and I may very well be. I don't keep up with the NFL. But, from what I've seen over the past couple of years, the NFL is still sticking with tried and true pocket passers. Based on what I've seen, there aren't many scrambling quarterbacks in the NFL and Tebow is more scramble than anything else.

Plus the shortest lifespan for any position in the NFL is the running back, is a team going to make the commitment towards a quarterback who most resembles a running back in his style of play? Tebow is a tough kid, but he wouldn't stand up to the abuse dished out in the NFL for very long.

But maybe he would. He's such a saint that maybe the defensive tackles won't be able to bring themselves to hit him very hard.

Tebow plays in an offense that does not prepare a quarterback for the NFL. He doesn't take snaps from under center, he can't drop back in the pocket while reading defenses, his footwork is all over the place, and he's not asked to throw timing routes. Basically, you can't trust Tebow to throw to a receiver who is not already open. An NFL QB has to be able to make a read and throw to the spot where his receiver is about to break open. For Tebow, playing QB in the pros will be like learning a whole new position.
