    Ted Kennedy lettered in college football.

    Ted Kennedy was an outstanding public speaker.

    And though considered a lightweight and a clown in the Kennedy family, Ted actually had some reasonable and well thought out positions politically (that I didn't agree with).

    And of course Ted Kennedy did have a reasonably stable family life the last 10 years or so.
