Needless to say, my very best of wishes go to her. She has a good family here at this board, and the positivity here is good to see. She's tough as leather. C'mon bird!
Zel, the very best of my thoughts and love go out to her. She is a ball of fire, I am sure will be ok.
I will sacrifice a chicken. And some strawberry ice cream. All the best. dangit, how many smilies did you guys add since I was last here, my browser is having a siezure! mm
Sending good, healing, soothing thoughts to both of you. May you find the strength and calm to be her rock until she heals. Hoping for a swift and FULL recovery.
Get well soon, Tamar! Of course, this is the Red Room, so also, fuck yourself with a rusty chainsaw. But only after you're restored to health.
She always pulls through. Good wishes, etc. nonetheless, but I think she'll be ok. She's too tough to let anything stop her!
Someone on TK (where I crossposted this thread) was asking for an address to send flowers to. Yes, I know, "TK", but I still thought the idea was good. Zel, do you all have a safe addy to send flowers for her or other get well gifts? (and yes, I am aware that flowers and pollen may not be good for her lungs.)
posting from hospital. On the 9th (today) they are going to attempt to put a scope down into her stomach, to see if the cause of the bleeding is from there. they failed to get the PICC line in, her veins are as stubborn as she is! even using a sonogram to detect them, everytime the nurse tried to stick it, the vein made it's dodge roll! her lower arms look like they were in a car wreck, bad bruising everywhere. the top of her left hand in particular looks like she has Andorian heritage. More updates tomorrow, Zel
As long as she's in the ICU she can't have flowers. If some folks would like to send gifts; Mid Coast Hospital, Brunswick Maine 04011, Room 409, Satellite Offices of the Tamarchives.
They are trying again today to put in a PICC line. The nurse, Lynn, yesterday tried so hard, if I only could giver rep! If they get it in, she'll get the stomach scope, and maybe more blood. Keep your fingers crossed.
Have they tried the foot? I knew a guy they couldn't find a vein on and they eventually drew blood from the top of the foot. I don't know if being in a wheelchair would make foot veins better or worse. My heart really goes out to you both and I feel for how unfair life can be. Reminds me to be grateful for how easy my life has been and that any hard times I have really aren't that hard.
A PICC line isnt for taking blood, its a line that runs from (usualy)the arm right up to very close to the heart and is used for dispensing chemicals. My mum had one when she was undergoing chemo.
