I empathize with RS on the bad room mate drama. I rent out my three spare rooms because I spend half of my time at my girlfriend's house anyway and it's nice to get other people to pay 3/4ths of my mortgage even while keeping a place of my own for when the girlfriend and I are sick of each other. Two of my room mates are great, they pay their bills on time, their considerate, etc... but the third... He's a fucking train wreck. I let him in about a month and a half ago and it has been problems from the get go. He has a serious crystal meth habit I didn't know about when he moved in, he has his tweeker friends coming in and out of the house at all hours, he keeps smoking in his room even though the one rule of my house is don't smoke in my fucking house, and worse he pisses on the floor constantly and even leaves shit stains on the toilet seat. I was rarely here so I didn't notice it at first (plus when I am here I use the master bathroom not the other bathroom) but my two good room mates recently informed me of the problem and said either he goes or they go. Naturally I gave the shit bag his 30 day notice.

That was today and shit bag flew into a rage and threatened violence (what ever, I can kick the fat fuck's ass) but I do have to find a way to live with this shit bag for another 30 days until he gets the fuck out. That's assuming he will actually get out after 30 days but his mother co-signed the lease because his credit was shit and he didn't have a job (she agreed to make sure it got paid each month) so I'm willing to bet she will make him move out rather then get her credit knocked. Still, it's a lot of drama I don't need and I'm thinking about turning the spare room into a den and not dealing with any more room mates.

I'm pretty sure you have some more options now that he threatened you with violence.
