At this point, I could care less about the illegal aliens that are currently in the country. The first thing that needs to happen is securing our borders. Once that is accomplished we will see a reduction in the number of people entering the country illegally.

Here's BD's solution to the immigration problem.

First, secure the border with a wall 30 feet high and 30 feet deep. Then place armed watchtowers every 1000 feet with expert sharp shooters that kills anyone who comes within 100 feet of the wall. Then mine both the mexican and american side to catch any who do get lucky enough to get through.

Next, give a one-time "conditional" amnesty to all illegals currently in the US. Those conditions include:

- Must renounce foreign citizenship. Anyone who refuses allegiance to the United States will have their amnesty revoked and they will be immediately deported.
- Must learn working English within 12 months to at least function in American society. Anyone who can not pass a basic english test after 12 months will be immediately deported.

It's very simple. Assimilate or be kicked out.

There's got to be a better way. Deporting illegal aliens fine. Killing em all just for being illegal aliens...? I'm not seeing the exemption from the 6th Commandment on that one.

The cost to deport calculation above probably doesn't take into account method. I'd say they're thinking of some expensive method involving all kinds of procedures and hoops, followed by business class flights home.

It would be much cheaper to simply use a mass rounding up by military type operation. Put them on mass trains and run the trains over the border, or to a dockyard where they are put on ships outfitted to carry maximum numbers of people in tight but humane conditions (like the liners turned troopships in WWII, carrying tens of thousands each). Deposit them back in the country they're citizens of and job's done.
