Abortion is a sick process... this is just done in a way that is obvious to idiots to be "worse" and therefore bad. Some won't even see anything wrong with this, sadly.
Since when does cpurick give a shit about minorities, immigrants, and poor women? Why, it's as if his ideology is a bunch of incoherant bullshit. No, that can't be right...
What's wrong? He's a doctor after all, and aborting viable babies by pulling them out and killing them is legal at late term abortuaries.
But hey, while the conditions may have been "squalid and barbaric", at least they weren't in a back alley. Yay Roe v. Wade!
That's pretty fucking awful. The whole story is. Maybe I'm wrong but I can't help but feel we'd be seeing a lot more stories like this if abortion were illegal though. Then again, it's already happening with the system that's in place.
Also, he used a scissors, instead of a rusty coathanger. Although, judging from the story, the scissors may very well have been rusty.
Shut the fuck up unless you're willing to support and raise all of these unwanted babies. You and your aching conscience DO NOT speak for my wallet.
There's a difference between "aching conscience" in terms of typical abortions, and disgust at some of the shit this guy was doing. There would appear to be a callous brutality in this particular instance, and a little revulsion here doesn't seem ill-placed.
I don't like it either, but I'm not going to indulge the fucking idiotic mentality that wants to halt abortions but pay no attention to the living aftermath.
You're right. I shouldn't be able to voice an opinion on a subject unless I'm asked to pay for it. Sure, I think abortion is murder, but hey, murder is cheaper than the alternatives, so it'a all good.
This. What this guy was doing is illegal. Attempting to make this an argument against all abortions is about as moronic as banning all guns because ... that woman in Arizona was shat last week.
Yeah, I've read the bumper stickers. You can flap your ass cheeks all you want, but stopping abortion doesn't solve the problem, and if you want to make society even worse off than it already is by multiplying the number of new mouths to feed, you can find a way to pay for it.
The way I pay for it is by telling the parents that it's their problem to pay for the babies they create. Not yours, not mine, theirs and if they can't pay for them, maybe they need to not do anything to create them in the first place. And if that wrecks little Joey and little Annie's dreams of going to college, tough shit. Actions, even adolescent actions, sometimes have lifeling consequences. And if we'd make the adoption process cheaper and easier in this country, maybe we'd find homes for all those otherwise unwanted babies.
That's nice, but here on planet Earth version 01, people are making babies they can't support. Right now. Today. They exist and they aren't going away. You can either let them have abortions, or you can offer your support to the unwanted babies by way of interfering with the abortion option. Those are the options. The fantasyland about punishing irresponsible procreators and making adoptions easier does exactly jack and shit to deal with the problems today. It's a half-assed evasion.
That'll teach me to post and yell over the cube wall at my boss at the same time ... ... nah, probably not.
Strip away welfare. Get rid of it and tell Maria, Britney, and Shaniqua that they better know where Jose, Tyler, and Javonte are going to get the money before the baby before they give up their hoohoodilly to that guy and if he can't then you better figure out how to pay for those babies because the taxpayer tit is dry. No safety net, no abortions, and there will be a drop in sexual activity that lead to those unwanted babies because we're forcing adults to act like adults. All your way does is give irresponsible behavior a way out. Either it leads to murder or higher taxes. I'm okay with neither.
Which leads to irresponsible people in prison where they don't make more crack babies. Your way leads to dead crack babies or more crack babies on welfare. You don't have any more idea how to fix this than I do apparantly other than to justify murder for financial reasons.
No, asshole. My way leads to unwanted babies being aborted. Locking people up doesn't make their offspring vanish. And you don't get to play the "moral high ground" card when you would knowingly proliferate unwanted babies everywhere. My way is less palatable, yours would be a fucking catestrophic disaster caused in the name of sanctimonious douchebaggery.
I'm not rationalizing anything. It's horrific that we have to resort to abortion to deal with our own irresponsibility, but recognizing the irrefutable fact that it's a choice between that and unwanted children starving to death, I go with the lesser of two evils. I don't like it, but I don't have any right to impose the alternative if I'm not willing and able to fund it myself.
They don't starve to death. There isn't a baby in this country that will starve to death even if the parents do nothing all day but smoke crack thanks to the public assistance programs. And any of them that do starve to death didn't benefit from the abortion providers out there, did they? Take the kids, put them up for adoption, make it easy to adopt them. Problem solved and no kids needed to be hoovered in the process.
So, the funds for this are unlimited, even if you double, triple, quadruple the number of unwanted babies? Bullshit. You'd have taxes spiraling out of control overnight.
There's a great punk band named Leftover Crack. The last time I saw them at the end of their show they asked if anyone had a place they could crash at.
I resent that. My wife and I have wanted to adopt a child for years (we have a daughter but we always wanted three children). But because it is too expensive (it costs more than twice as much to adopt a child than to have one naturally) and we already have a child we're considered "low priority". The U.S. puts up huge barriers to adopting a child in the form of expenses and regulations. American culture also puts up social barriers to adoptions by making such a huge freakin deal about adoptive children "finding their REAL parents" later in life. And your right to your wallet is not unlimited.
