That reminds me of another bad one. Metalstorm: The Destruction of Jared-Syn And then there's... Battle Beyond the Stars Starring John Boy, George Peppard, Robert Vaughn, and John Saxon. Oi Vey. And then there's Virus. And Killdozer. I have seen some bad movies.
"Night of the Lepus" from 70 or 71 with Dr McCoy. "Food of the Gods" from 76. "Dracula A.D. 1972" 2 head movie from the early 70s. Racist white guy has black guy's head for a 2nd head on his neck. "Gargoyles" 1972
Years before Star Trek and Titanic, James Horner did the theme for Battle Beyond the Stars. You can hear hints of his Trek repertoire in this rousing theme: [yt=Battle Beyond the Stars theme]cv3oGGzfSDE[/yt]
Okay, so I just watched Tank Girl, as Anchorman isn't available on Netflix streaming. Were the Star Trek references intentional, or did I just want to see them because it had Malcolm McDowell as the bad guy?
The Thing with Two Heads it and Blacula are classics. Classic like Cotton Comes To Harlem. or Cleopatra Jones. Sonovabitch I never noticed it.
It's totally corny - The opening scene, set in a time when England's monarchy was still struggling for stability, and the populace is singing "We Will Rock You" and later on with "The Boys are Back in Town"?
Army of Darkness -- So incoherently bad it's awesome! Troy -- I never thought of this as bad, just painfully misguided. The extended version is a lot better than the theatrical cut. Phantasm -- Ridiculous movie (and the sequels are even more ludicrous) that has some bitchin' freaky moments, great music, and horribly bad acting. Love Angus Scrimm as the Tall Man, and how can you not love the flying balls that drill through your skull and shoot out fountains of blood?
Oh yeah, Starship Troopers. I couldn't get enough of that movie when I was in college. Even now, I can't help but watch when it's on. "THEY SUCKED HIS BRAINS OUT!" Are any of the sequels worth watching?
Damnation Alley actually featured giant scorpions. The cockroaches, while slightly larger than the norm, were dangerous because of their carnivorous habits. I rather enjoyed "Armaggeddon".
I don't remember watching it or whether it was good...but wasn't "The Black Hole" considered to be pretty bad?
As a kid, I thought The Black Hole was pretty cool. As an adult, I can't believe I thought The Black Hole was pretty good as a kid.
The Black Hole was a great movie IMO. It's almost dead even at Rotten Tomatoes. Ladies and Gentlemen I present Bugsy Malone.
The Black Hole sucked until the end. We all knew the ship was going to go through that black hole. The entire movie was just a build-up to it.
Starship Troopers is not a bad film. It doesn't belong in this thread. My own include the Rocky sequels and (I hate to admit it) some of the Star trek films.
