I'm so sick and tired of hearing the news media beat the subject to death day after day after day that I can't stand it anymore!
They're beating her? Why don't the use duct tape like she did on her kid? On another note, dang - a fellow literally can't look at Casey Anthony, imo, without seeing "OMG... wtf did I do" clearly written on her face.
No, they're beating us. Turn to any news channel and it's the Casey Anthony trial. Even FoxNews is doing it. My God, HLN is even doing a timer for how long the jury has been deliberating.
Yep. This tragedy has been exploited long enough, the drama long wrung. And it's creepy to have the 24/7 camera on the defendant, sure she's easy on the eyes but our legal system is morphing more and more into a legal entertainment system. How long before we're using a 1-800 number to determine innocence? Then again, that may well be better than what we've got going now.
And now, from the producers who gave you American Idol comes...American Defendent! Where you, the audience, get to determine the defendent's innocence or guilt!
The world is crashing down around us, the Mid-East is in turmoil, the economy's in the shitter getting ready for the flush, Greece is on fire, we're probably headed for one of the worst economic depressions in history, and all the news is covering is this trial.
I bailed out when some blowdried swine called it "the new OJ trial", like it was a good thing. The news networks are re-deleted via my VCR tuner. I had 'em back for dead Bin Laden, they had their chance, they blew it.
So turn off the teevee and TalkRadio, go to Google News, customize it for the stories you're interested in and ignore the ones you're not. Or, I don't know, go for a walk in the woods or read a book or something...
The timer for the hours was bad enough but they were breathlessly announcing the hours/minutes/seconds.
Win and you're innocent. Lose and you die. Or we could have trial by combat like in The Game of Thrones.
Well, its summer. And summer is always a slow news time. One reason that you get summertime "theme news". Remember "Summer of the shark attacks"? or "Summer of the Missing Blonds"?
I am not surprised by the verdict. It was a difficult case for a jury pool that tends to have difficulty grasping things like this.
Each of the four guilty verdicts can carry up to four years in prison. The judge now has a decision: all sentences be served concurrently or sequential. If concurrently she will likely get out in a few months as she has already been in jail for three years. Sequential could get her another 12-13 years in prison (not including time off for good behavior). I can't see the judge doing that though. So IMHO more then likely she's out of jail by the new year.
Time served. Locking her up any longer for the lying is the sore loser's gambit. Bitch got away with murder.
Shockingly, Nancy Grace (the wife is a fan) did NOT stroke out and die on the set when the verdict was read. I swear I'd like to have seen that woman backhanded every time the words "Tot Mom" passed her lips.
Never knew about this girl until this thread. Just read up a bit on her, and she sounded guilty to me. What do I know though, I'm no fancy big city lawyer. *snaps suspenders*
Well She walked and will write Her book and make Her millions.....but I noticed the Parents just walked out and didn't look to happy....so maybe they'll tell Her to go fuck Herself after She let Her scummy Lawyer blame Them for the murder of Their Grandchild....They know the truth They know She killed Her kid and Their the only ones who can atleast show Her the door and kick Her out of Their life. Now anyone want to take bets that a few years down the road She'll be back in the news after doing something just as bad....if She'll kill Her Kid what's to stop Her from doing anything.
I'm always fascinated by people who weren't in the courtroom, had direct access to none of the evidence, are going solely by what the media pre-filters, reinterprets, and then feeds to them, but who know better than the jury. Enough evidence is usually suppressed to keep a jury confused, but WF KNOWS ALL!
Well it's over they've chucked out all the charges http://www.washingtonpost.com/natio...ghter-caylee/2011/07/05/gHQAa2HLzH_story.html
^I will confess that I thought she was guilty and--who knows?--maybe she did commit the murder. But, imperfect as it is, our system lets a person walk when the jury's not convinced.
