    I hate him because he's apparently never read the constitution, and because he's allegedly terrified of muslims when he probably had plenty of them working for him in the past.

    But it's more disgust than hate.

    He said the American people have the right -- he didn't say Congress. And if you've read the establishment clause yourself even once, you'd know that it prohibits Congress from establishing a state religion and from banning religious expression. Nothing, and no one, else is specified.

    Everyone has the right to be as racist as they want to be. If they're a property owner, then they have the right to use their property as they choose or let anyone else they choose do what they wish on that property. That's freedom.

    The US government, on the other hand, does not have the right to tell people who they must allow to use their property.

    IOW, if a property owner doesn't want a mosque built on their property then no one has the right to tell them they have to allow a mosque (or anything else) to be built on their property.

    In this case, Herman Cain is correct. Bigoted, but correct.

    And yet many Christians, including Cain and other presidential candidates, believe that homosexuals should not be allowed to marry and base that specifically on a religious understanding of the law. If we should not legislate a religious tradition (and we shouldn't) then isn't there an inconsistency here?

    By the way, if Cain somehow makes it to the finals he should play the "vote for me or you're racist" card like there's no tomorrow!

    Point of order-wouldn't any mosque be built on private property-presumably owned by those wishing to build it?

    So the question is, does any level of government have the right to tell a specific group that they don't enjoy the same right to build a house of worship as others do?
