OK. The library WiFi is putting a serious cramp in my already delayed schedule. With historically high gas prices in the news I'm dumbfounded (or maybe not) that, the stories avoid the systematic efforts by The Obama Administration (praise His name) to make them that way. So I was amused by this snippet from an Op-Ed piece that found its way into my Inbox (particularly the bolded bit):
Yep, Obama is a stumblebum who can't do anything right, but he can singlehandedly make gas prices go up.
Funny how you can't see that I was making fun of the idea that he could do that. Gas prices going up? Not good. Obama having some magical power to push them up? Well, if he is a stublebum it seems unlikely, unless he's only pretending to be a stumblebum in some areas to conceal Godlike powers in others....
It doesn't take "magical powers" to make them go up. They go up on their own. Making a firm decision to NOT do anything about rising gas prices isn't the same thing as making them go up your self.
Your bending over backwards trying to justify everything Obama does is cute and all but it has no bearing on reality here. Obama can be failing to do all he can to make gas prices better for the consumer and that does, indeed make him a bad president. When higher gas prices have been his stated goal since before he took office, it's not a question of whether gas prices are something that's beyond his power and/or whether or not he's working to make things better. The real question is whether you will ever acknowledge the negative things this president does to the country.
When the Sec of Energy sets as a goal forcing the price of gas up, it's very hard to believe they're trying to lower them.
Isn't the government taking action to force down gas prices exactly the kind of socialist intervention conservatives oppose?
Wow, so the government lessening restrictions on production that they put in place to raise prices is government intervention?
Well, Ward, Obama should have fought harder for a single payer and/or public option for his health care plan. He should have fought harder to kill Bush's insane tax cut plan. He should have fired everybody involved with Fast and Furious. He should have used more recess appointments to sidestep republican appointment stalling. Those are few things he's done wrong.
So do you prefer to rinse the taste of Obama's shithole with his cum, or the other way around, you fucking pathetic sycophant?
What the hell is this shit? Is any of this a question? Are we getting approval for offshore drilling in American waters? What about recent land-based drilling and refining applicatons? Was the pipeline through the Dakooohtas and Nebraska approved? You can't impede these things and claim to be trying to lower gas prices. You just fucking can't.
Since when does a guy who's trying to get elected purposely raise gas prices? AFAIK, the only way Obama could be directly responsible for raising gas prices is instituting a sort of "carbon tax" or something similar to end users at the pump, right? My provincial politicians did that here and I still want to strangle the life out of them.
And yet when Bush was in office, the media and the democrats were constantly blasting him about high gas prices. Funny how times have changed!!!!
