Dick van Dyke marries makeup artist 46 years his junior Actor Dick Van Dyke has married his 40-year-old girlfriend, RumorFix reported Friday. The 86-year-old actor wed Arlene Silver, his makeup artist, on Feb. 29. "[It was] kinda on the spur of the moment, we just decided Leap Day would be the best time to do it," Van Dyke told the showbiz website. The "Mary Poppins" star met Silver six years ago at the Screen Actors Guild awards. "She became my makeup artist and ultimately worked her way up to wife," he joked. Van Dyke described being a newlywed in his 80s as "wonderful." The octogenarian was previously married to Margie Willett from 1948 to 1984 and they had four children together. Van Dyke also had a long-term relationship with actress Michelle Triola until her death in 2009. ----- Maybe he married her on leap day so that he wouldn't have to remember any anniversaries
