    I CAN has job!

    Finally!

After over 21 months without one.

Yes, it is a low-paying part time job with a widely despised company. but it is earned income.

I'll take it and be very proud to have it.

Congrats!!! Can we ask which company? I'm curious to see how much I despise it.

People gripe about Walmart, but the reality is that those who last there do wind up with competitive money and benefits packages. It's that first year that's not so great.

Well, that's either a reference to Goldman Sachs or to Walmart, and I don't think you're a banker. Congrats!

Congrats! Work is work, there are no bad jobs.
BTW the Walmart nearest my house has some hot chicks....or at least I think they're chicks.
I'm not chancing it - no more fantasizing about them.

But Walmart brand frozen hamburger patties are great. A few bucks for a big bag of them. I can't form my own patties out of ground beef any cheaper, and mine never come out right anyway.

I'm going to be there a long time if they have me, trying to find work under my circumstances is like trying to win the lottery.

Unless, you know, i actually do win the lottery, or sell a crap-load of books, or ya know...

Just to let you in on something, in case you didn't know: To win the lottery, it is best to play. And since you don't have that kind of money to waste, it probably is best not to count on winning the lottery.

Congrats on the job, anyway. Hope everything works out fine for you. (You know what I'm referring to.)

On the contrary. Best return on investment is likely to come from never buying a ticket.

You will notice that not only is that not in contradiction with what I said, it is even implied by it (if you quote the whole thing, including the part you left out)!

So it is not "contrary" at all. It is at best complementary information, and that only by stating it in a slightly more obvious way.

Nah. Since the game is crooked, its definition of 'winning' is not to be adopted. Being left with the most money after the draw truly is winning. Winning the lottery is best accomplished by not playing in it; I win the lottery every week.

If Nova is now a WalMart associate, she'll probably do a better job than 90 percent of the WM boneheads around here. Man, I'd like to do an "undercover boss" and 86 the bunch of them!

No the way to win is live in a state with lottery scholarships. Between my brother and I, my dad won 40,000 from the lottery without buying a ticket.
