And you think I love rap. Sadly you are mistaken. I think it pretty much sucks also. But you wrote that cuz I'm Black, right?! You fail.
I don't know why anyone else wrote it, but I wrote it because I knew it'd cause you to have a little tizzy.
No, I did not write it cuz you're black. I don't play that game. I wrote it because I did not recognize the song lyrics, and the way they were structured it seemed like a rap song. So even though I was mistaken on the origins of the song, my comment on rap sucking was still valid. Either way, it had nothing to do with you personally, nor the color of your skin.
HA! That made my day. I'm glad I'm in the "old man" category and grew up with The Temptations on the radio. My sister had this on a 45 single, but she might have had Papa Was A Rolling Stone - it was one of these, or maybe both. But I had no idea so many people covered Ball Of Confusion. It makes sense, it's universal theme - a fucked up world that could be better.

Hey Mewa, have you ever seen 'Fritz The Cat'? It was an animated film by Ralph Bakshi, released in in 1972.
No, no set up. I just saw it recently. And talking about the culture of the 70s made me think of it. Y'know, the scenes of Fritz going to Harlem and trying to be down with the brothas. I'm sure it was a controversial movie at the time. Since you're from NYC I was just wondering what you thought of all that. Some folks might not have appreciated the depictions in the movie.
