Dayton, do you keep a list of your lists?

List of list of TV shows "Where they ate well" list.
List of lists of TV shows by Category
List of TV shows by Categories
    List of Lists of TV

Do you keep them like this?

    List of lists:
    - Specific entertainment by category by TV shows
    -- TV Shows
    --- Historical Fictional
    ---- Fictional War
    ----- Fictional War 1950-1960
    ------ Fictional War 1950-1960 Eastern
------- Fictional War 1950-1960 Eastern: Asian

Lists... not really. I make notecards with small to-do lists. They're scattered in my desk drawer and I tear them up when I get things done.

    You asked:

    If I Were President
The platform I would run on and what I would seek to do.

    1) Cut the U.S. federal budget deficit by 50% each year. (this assumes the annual
U.S. deficit is running at about one trillion dollars a year when I take office).
First year-250 billion dollars in budget cuts, 250 billion dollars in new revenue
Mainly through economic growth (see #6)

    _________________________________________________________________

    _________________________________________________________________

    _________________________________________________________________

    2) Cut the number of illegal immigrants entering the U.S. each year by 50% before
    I leave office.
Enforce existing immigration laws. Build better border security. Help
Mexican economy especially in the border regions.

    3) Cut the number of elective abortions performed in the U.S. each year by 50% before
    I leave office.
Give states incentives to lower number of abortions locally by whatever means they are able to implement

    4) Cut the presidents annual salary by 50% (from what I assume will be $420,000 to
    $210,000)
Shared sacrifice and all that. I’ll recoup later anyway.

    5) Cut the number of American servicemen and women stationed overseas by 50%.
Less emphasis on ground troops. More on uses of naval forces and bombings

    6) Grow the U.S. economy by 50% before I leave office. (5.3% a year). (MOST vital)
Freeze and rollback of regulations (except for emergencies)
Vast tax code broadening and simplification.
Government/industry partnership on things like refinery building & nuclear
    power plant construction
    Emphasize a strong dollar
Push free trade in targeted areas using reciprocal trade agreements.

    ________________________________________________________________

    _________________________________________________________________

    __________________________________________________________________

    7) Increase Americans purchasing power by 36% before I leave office. (4% a year)
Mainly by holding down increases in prices of health care and education
Make gasoline less subject to extreme price fluctuations.

    ________________________________________________________________

    _________________________________________________________________

    8) Commit the U.S. to 4% for Freedom- Defense spending at a minimum of 4% of GDP.
Maintain 12 U.S. Army divisions & 4 armored cavalry regiments, 12 Carrier Battle Groups. 400 naval vessels ,155 heavy bombers, 1,550 nuclear weapons
2,000 USAF combat aircraft available, 4,000 ABMs. _____________________

    _______________________________________________________________

    9) Commit the U.S. to launching 4 manned space missions and 1 unmanned exploratory
    missions each year.
Manned would include four manned missions to Mars and eight manned
Lunar missions, Remainder would be orbital missions. Unmanned includes
Jupiter Icy Moons Orbiter, Neptune Orbiter, Horizons II (Uranus), Thousand Astronomical Unit (TAU) with Pluto orbiter aboard, Solar Sample Return, Venus Multi Site Lander/Sample Return, Mercury Rover, Titan Orbiter/Rover

    _________________________________________________________________

    10) Cut the number of U.S. Cabinet level departments by 25% ____________________

    ___________________________________________________________________

    11) Cut the number of Americans without catastrophic health care insurance by 50%

    _____________________________________________________________________

    ______________________________________________________________________

    12) Cut the number of unemployed Americans by 30% before I leave office

Numbers 1,2,3,5, & 6 all have the beginnings of policy suggestions. Number 12 is tied to #6 closely.

Needless to say #6, regarding strong economic growth is the most important.

Republicans and conservatives should realize that if we do a great job with the economy we can do whatever else we damn well please and few Americans will care.

IIRC, you ask the members of your party in Congress to introduce legislation that enacts policies to bring that about, you lobby members of Congress to pass the bills introduced, and then once Congress votes to pass them you sign them once they reach your desk.

How would you do what you say, since you're a compulsive list maker do you have one for how you would do what you said.

And where is your list on how you would become president, other than "I run and be elected.".

    Short version?

    1) Become a head football coach in high school.
    2) Win championships, make lots of money, become more well known.
    3) Invest money in a couple of small businesses that require low capital investment and in my dads farm.
    4) Have books both fiction and non fiction published.

    5) Use local notoriety to get elected to the state legislature. state legislature is a part time thing only so I can still teach.

    6) Win a seat in Congress then. Arkansas has become a largely Republican state at the Congressional level by the way. The Koch brothers have invested a lot in the party here.

    7) Be elected governor, then reelected.

    8) After reelection then run for and win the presidency.

In the best case scenarios, I would become president when I'm 61 or 65 years old. Though 69, about two months younger than Reagan was when he took office would not be so bad.

Needless to say, I've studied the likely issues for 2028, 2032, and 2036 with great interest.

You haven't gotten past #1 yet, and you've talked about being a head football coach for what... 7-8 years now?

How would you make a lot of money with #1, you yourself have said that the head football coaches in your area don't really make that much.

You've been fired from many jobs in retail, how would you make a profit when you couldn't hold a retail job for any great amount of time?

Book reviews on Amazon do not amount to being a writer, neither do letters to a newspaper. Have you even had a short story published anywhere that is accessible to a large audience? A magazine, a publication?

How would you go about being elected to state legislature, how would you run, what stances would you take, how would you run your platform? Being a football coach isn't going to do it.

See above for the seat in congress.

    Same for governor.

    And the same for president.

Have taken any interest in running for anything local where you live, anything? Mosquito control, any small office that you could run for? Now would be the time to start even if it's sitting on the town/county board? Have you even tried to move into administration where you teach. That would probably work a lot better and quicker for you.

Do you honestly people will vote for you simply because you will run?

More importantly what is doing to start moving that process along?

Is he involved with the local party? Guess who shows up to LD meetings? Sad, lonely political wonks. Guess who votes all the way down the ticket to the bullshit positions? Sad, lonely political wonks. If you want to do anything you really need to get the nod from your local LD. You don't get that by being a football coach.

You do that by showing up the meetings, paying your dues (literally) and helping out. Start off by being a PCO and then work up to some leadership positions.

While you work your local party structure, you HAVE to start volunteering with political campaigns in your area. Not only do you start building your name and goodwill with potential politicians (endorsements) but you learn how to run a campaign and more importantly you make contacts. Finding people who are willing to knock on doors for a politician or raise money for one are precious, precious things. You know the ONE thing every single person you meet door-belling or fundraising has in common? They are people that are willing to doorbell or fund-raise for politicians.

The fact that Dayton hasn't even done a single thing to make any of this happen tells me the guy is just a sad lonely fuck that can't get along with anyone and gets his jollies trolling on Star Trek boards.

How many local elected offices did President Obama ever hold?

    Or Bill Clinton?

    Or either Bush presidents?

    Or Ronald Reagan?

    Grand total of NONE IIRC.

I held retail jobs for a number of years.

8 years and 9 months for my first retail position.

3 years and 8 months for my second retail position.

A head football coach can get about 50,000 a year starting out at least.

A successful one can get probably twice that depending on the location and extras. Even more if he insists that his wife be hired as a condition of employment.

Pretty good considering living expenses in this state.

Bill Clinton, a friend commented during his 1992 campaign, had been collecting friends since elementary school to help him in whatever he wanted to do.

Both Bushes were born to a wealthy, well-known family.

Reagan was charismatic and had had a movie career. Obama's got the charisma thing going on too.

Most of our presidents have been, in a variety of ways, exceptional. For other people, getting into politics through local government may be the only way for it to happen.

Jimmy Carter was elected to the Sumter County School Board in his early 30s. Also, his father had been a state representative.

Nixon served on the Whittier College Board of Trustees and had also worked in the federal government before his military service.

It's actually pretty interesting to read about our presidents' early careers and all the things they did to gain influence and make friends who would help them later on, often starting from a very young age.

I post on Wordforge to gain influence and make friends.

I think I will run for president fairly soon, now. :)

I would definitely help improve America's relations with France and Madagascar. Maybe Switzerland, too, if they offer me free chocolate. But not the Germans. I still haven't forgiven them for beating France in the semi-finals of the World Cup, in 1982. A president has to know these kinds of things.

    Vote for me! :enty:

The notion that someone of your shallow intellect, lack of personal introspection and general inability to appeal to anyone but himself would ever managed to accomplish (1) to (4), let alone (5), in quick succession, is utterly laughable. There's more chance of me ascending to the throne of the UK and colonies.

You've been spouting "President Dayton" going back to TBBS, and you haven't done anything to start a political career. If you had started even a small amount we would probably offer you some encouragement.

You really need to start now, even if it's being elected to be the teacher's rep at school board meetings.
