    Terrorism fucking works.

It worked on 9/11, and it's working now with the Boston thing.

Terrorism works, because people are fucking cowards.

Your government is fucking cowards, for damned sure.

The average screaming-meemee running around like a decapitated chicken is a coward.
    A jelly-legged jelly-bellied bunch of cowards.

And shit, let's get brutal, a bunch of you gun nuts are fucking cowards.
Saying this and that about a fucking revolution, when you should've had one 40 fucking years ago?
    You're never gonna do it.
    Never.
    You ain't got the grapes.

This is a cowardly fucking country full of softened up Eloi, and hearing "land of the free, home of the brave", in our goofy fucking anthem makes me want to puke.

Any two-bit wackaloon with a shitty skeezy garage built bomb OWNS this country like a schooyard bully.
    And they KNOW it.
    It's pathetic.

It does indeed work for most every political agenda.

Ah, the corned beef of this shit sandwich!

Hey D, no need to be afraid, in such a scenario you would clearly be a Morlock.

Everytime someone says "it's Muslims" when there's am attack after 9/11, BEFORE they know who has done it, proves that the impact of just one terrorist attack has impacted western society for generations.

It is very similar to what us Londoners grew up with. Every security alert was down to the IRA, whether we knew it or not.

Yeah, I don't get it. "Works" implies that terror attacks brought about the response they were intended to bring about, and I haven't seen any terror attack on North American soil in the last century result in the response desired by the attackers.

Well... if Dormer might count partially, since his actions resulted in his complaints getting a second look... but that's it.

That's why I don't have a problem with Obama not jumping on the "it was terrorism" five seconds after Boston. There's plenty of time to decide what to call it later - right now get the facts and keep a cool head so you don't get off on a tangent. That plays right into the hands of whovever did this. Just find out who did it for now.

So gun owners are cowards because they haven't used their arms to violently overthrow a government they may not agree with 100 percent?

That would be like calling Forbin a coward because he doesn't crash his car head-on into bad drivers - all he does is complain and take videos!

By the way I'm not scared of terrorists in the least, and I shoot guns occasionally but don't own one at the present, and don't trust my government but since I haven't tried to change things by running for office myself, I go with the flow. How would you pigeon-hole me?

BTW I assume "pigeon-hole" isn't some deviant sexual act.

I wouldn't be quite so absolute about it. Sometimes it works. As for governments, I don't think they're terrified of it. They often use it to justify pursuing other goals.

    Pay attention to my wording.

just so long as you remember that you're just as much a cowardly, screaming meemee as "they" are.

"I'm the X-ray technician"? talk minus action equals zero. I don't hear anything about you getting up off of your ass to do shit about, well, anything. Just these occasional rants where you claim to have "called it" a decade after the fact.

Stick to fart jokes... it's easier to take you seriously on that subject.

Let me ask this in all seriousness: How many of you were worried--genuinely worried--upon hearing about the bombing at the Boston marathon?

While I'll admit to being a bit shocked and disgusted, it hasn't changed ANYTHING in my life. You might as well have told me there was a huge pile-up on the freeway and a few people were killed.

I don't mean to sound insensitive, but, really, it's just not that big a deal. Two people died? I bet you could find a multiple homicide somewhere in this country on the same day that took as many lives.

There was a fertilizer plant in Texas that blew up yesterday, killing between 5 and 15 people. Every bit as horrific in human terms as Boston. But you'll probably have forgotten all about it by tomorrow.

But somewhere people get this idea that, when something unusual happens, we must make a solemn vow to make sure it never happens again. Which is, of course, complete nonsense because you CAN'T stop these things from happening. You wanna guard everything? Who guards the guards?

When something like Boston happens, we should let the authorities--you know, the people we taxpayers employ for these situations--do their investigations and (hopefully) bring the guilty to account. The system is already on it. We don't need to re-engineer society for what is, really, a minor event.

Now, I'm not saying we shouldn't look for ways to improve things or that we shouldn't prosecute the wrongdoers to the fullest extent of the law. But, for the most part, we need to grow up and accept that life entails risk and that there will always be evil people out there who will do these kinds of things.
