Don't be silly. Such situations never, ever happen, and the father is far more likely to shoot his daughter by mistake.

Kentucky girl, 2, shot dead by brother, 5, who was playing with gun he'd been given as a gift. Caroline Starks, 2, was killed after being shot by her 5-year-old sibling with his own .22 caliber rifle. The county coroner has ruled the death ‘just one of those crazy accidents.’

Anecdotal, sure, but yeah, statistically the gun is more likely to be used to kill a family member than a home invader.

I'm sure the little girl had it coming.

As far as the PSA goes, its pure and simple fanwank, and you know it.

I'm sure we will find out that the producer of the Public Safety Announcement *snort* has NOTHING to do with the gun industry.

Dismiss things you disagree with. Make yourself feel OH so much smarter thru said dismissal. Denigrate the opposition via same. My anecdote is better than your anecdote, even though both are true. My what-if trumps your what-if, even though both are equally valid or invalid. Just like every political discussion... well, ever, anywhere.

Ya know what? Fuck you, and fuck this place. bye.

Right. Because the snark was started by me in this thread. Here's an idea - don't be a flaming hypocrite.

The difference between this and every other bit of snark out that's been on this site for the last ten years?

You KNOW your side continues to get people killed that don't have to die, and deep down, that bothers you, and you haven't been able to process that information and still feel good about yourself.

But if WF isn't the sanctuary you so desire, I'm sure there's a thousand gun websites that would love to tell you what you want to hear.

Hate to see you go, but I'm not going to fall into line just because you don't like what I have to say.

Scintillating counter-argument there, Skippy. Keep up the good work.

Don't worry about it. People in such a rampaging hurry to give up their essential liberties are to be pitied, not debated. Someone who cries "Safety! Safety!" should really be crying "Cage me! Cage me!"
