I'd actually call that one a win for the "more guns" side.

    No.

The four-year-old was killed by a stupid adult who was driving around with a loaded weapon in the back of his vehicle.

The two-year-old was killed by her five-year-old brother playing with a "toy" someone gave him for his birthday that had a live round in the chamber.

The adults responsible for these weapons being loaded are criminally stupid, but that's not the kind of criminal you're talking about.

People license cars, use them every day, have to prove they are competent to drive, pay money to keep a car on the road and none of it stops accidents from happening.

No matter how well trained, it's true of guns as well...police officers have accidents all the time.

Nothing short of no guns will prevent those kinds of accidents.

In all fairness, not eliminating accidents entirely doesn't mean accidents aren't still reduced significantly.

It is not required for all cars.

Vehicles used only on farms for example for farm business are not required to be registered in some states.

You only have to license and register your car if you drive it on a public road.

People who want to carry their handguns in public also have to get a license to do so.

Since I don't carry my guns around in public, explain to me why I should license and register them like a car? :bailey:

One of my sisters did not want to get a carry permit (in Texas) for a pistol even though she was frequently the target of threats at her job.

So she got a pistol for her home. One for her car. And one for her office.

Of course he is. You know why he is? Because he hates Americans. That's why he wants Americans unarmed and defenseless against violent criminals, including the violent criminals who are part of our government.

I posted all gun deaths I could find, even back when I was posting them as individual threads. I decided not to pick and choose. My reason for this was a while back, in one of our many gun threads, Zombie seemed to think that most gun deaths were either gang-related or in cases of self-defense. That is certainly one example of a positive use of firearms. If I didn't include the gun deaths in cases of self-defense or by cops, I would be accused of picking and choosing my data.

It would certainly be a win for the "more guns" side if there were more cases like this.

Rick calls my anecdotal info about responsible gun ownership "bullshit" yet as far as I know he has little experience dealing with gun owners/shooters because his first-hand knowledge of the subject is minimal, and will remain so as long as he lives in a disarmed country.

    Sad, really.

I'll bet he knows a few people with non-firing "replica" guns in their homes, and I will admit I've never seen one or met someone who has. I wouldn't even know how or where to get one. :facts:

See post #43. And thank you for reading my thread. Please feel free to point out anymore you find similar to that. The running tally so far is 4 shootings by cops in self-defense out of 296 (roughly 1.4%).

That didn't work for the people he listed. These numbers are obscene. Something is clearly wrong with this picture.

    Chad does not like death.

Maybe we should get Jerry Lewis to host a telethon to find a cure.

That was after going through 15 or so. Your thread was already trashed to shit by including the fucking Boston Marathon bomber so there's no point in continuing.

And the things is, guns are always going to exist. And they're always going to be here in the hands of criminals. Even if every gun within the borders of the United States as of the moment I type this was to be rounded up and melted into slag, guess what? Criminals would have guns tomorrow morning.

    How?

They'd buy them on the black market that would instantly emerge from Mexico, because in addition to Mexican drug smugglers, we'd have Mexican drug and gun smugglers.

And since there's no way in toasty, cuddly Hell that garamet is ever going to be in favor of a secure border, she's likewise never going to be in favor of criminals not having guns. She's only in favor of responsible, lawful Americans not having guns.

It's good to see Chad is training his ability to both trivialize and politicize tragedy.

Especially since, yes, he was shot but he was alive after the shooting.

It was his brother running over him and dragging his body over 40 feet that killed him.

And of course, if we were to take this as truth, then your statement relies on the assertion that all or any of these deaths could have been avoided by the passage of a background check bill.

And since it's not my job to prove your assertions for you, you can either get busy trying to find evidence, or go sit in the corner.

Pathetic is trivializing all these deaths as 'there is nothing that could be done.'

We know that's a lie. Many places both have weapons for self defense and massively smaller death lists.

The fact that you don't like that is true is completely irrelevant.
