Soldier killed outside his barracks in Woolwich area. Possible decapitation. Being treated as a terrorist attack, possibly by Islamic extremists, by the government.

Well, at least the terrorists are getting lamer and killing fewer people per attack these days.

Some chav munter interviewed by the BBC seemed to think the attackers were Afghani. Wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't a standard attack, but an attack motivated on the West's perceived interference in Afghanistan and the ME. If that's what it is I hope it's isolated.

I hope this doesn't sound callous, but what does a possible decapitation look like? Isn't that the kind of diagnosis you can usually ascertain without extensive forensic analysis?

If all you've found is the head, it's a possible decapitation. If you find the head and the body with limbs removed, it's a dismemberment. If the limbs are still attached, however, then it's a simple decapitation.

The body is right there in the video, intact and in the street. Can't tell about the head though.
