Oops. You said a bad thing about Dayton, so by his recent logic, you're lumped in with Genghis Khan and Hitler. You're his enemy and he must eliminate you.
Well, Async can lie about Dayton and make things right, because according to Dayton lying is a positive action for redemption.
I never used a fist on my wife and you well know it. To say otherwise means you are lying. And by bringing it up you are deliberately attempting to imply that I'm a bad person for a loss of temper more than a decade ago. Premarital sex is a sin and to me is the root of almost EVERY major social problem the United States has (do not know about Ireland).
Remember...if you don't see yourself as better than other people, you might as well kill yourself. Apparently in his world, he must be better than everyone else or he should die. Also, I am here to say you are a seriously misguided and self-centered person who picks and chooses what to believe, what sins are okay and what are unforgivable based on your own desires are and not Jesus' words. I have only slept with the one man I am married to, never divorced and never will be and I love God with all my heart, soul and life, so you can't throw that in my face. Until you find grace, forgiveness and humility, you are lost my friend. no matter how long ago you harmed your wife, you should never stop feeling horror that it happened and should go forward in fear and trepidation that you could do so again. Your arrogant dismissal of it makes the rest of us fear for your wife and kids.
As far as the Bible is concerned, the way I read it a person is a "hypocrite" if they judge and condemn another person for the SAME sin they are guilty of committing themselves. I do not smoke, drink, never have sex outside of marriage, et cetera so I'm perfectly free to condemn those who do.
You condemn people on here for allegedly lying about you....yet you requested that I start a thread in which I would make up lies about you to make you look good. So where does that sit in the grand scheme of things (or will you still keep avoiding this question like a coward)?
You seem to forget that there's a previous verse in the same chapter: So in other words, don't judge at all or you will face your own judgement.
But you are very quick to tell those who pull you up for thumping your wife that it was one mistake and you shouldn't be pilloried for it. Surely on the basis of the above quote, those of us who are not wife beaters should be perfectly free to condemn those who are??
What I find interesting is that in this thread (and many others) when Async and other christians pull him up about his behaviour and interpretations of the bible he never answers.
No. It doesn't mean what you think it means. Christians can and should judge. It is just that you should realize that while you judge, you will also be judged by that same set of criteria, so don't be a hypocrite and instead worry more about your own issues than someone else's.
The mote of adultery, smoking, pre-marital sex, etc that exists in someone else's eye should concern you less than the log of wife-beating that is in your own eye.
He never answers any of the tough questions because to do so he'd have to start unraveling the delusional bubble he lives in. I'm fully convinced that Dayton's deep rooted sense of what the world is, and his own superior role in it, has has built over time as a defensive shield. A shield designed to deflect those difficult life questions that he doesn't have the mental strength to face.
You have extensive data on this, I assume? And yeah, you are a bad person for what you did, your subsequent attitude toward it, and many, many other reasons which have been explained to you at length.
But that interpretation kind of jibes with Dayton's claim that he can judge about sins he hasn't committed. If it meets Dayton's interpretation, by definition it is wrong.
At the end of the day he's a bad egg. Apostle may be a certified mentalist with seriously misguided positions, but I don't believe he is inherently evil. Dangerous maybe (in a firearms situation) but not Dayton levels of influential and misogynistic danger. Really, I have no issue in saying that of all the faceless characters I have interacted with over the internet, Dayton is easily the most loathsome, misguided, evil, dangerous individual I have ever encountered.
Well, the critical part he's missing is that he should worry more about his own sins. Also, the verse is more concerned about sin in general, not a laundry list of specific sins. So, while Dayton wants to use the verse as an excuse to say "You're a fornicator and I'm not!", it really should be more like "We're all sinners and I'm going to work on not being one".
How many Dayton is a horrible person/horrible Christian threads do we need before you all get tired of them? I mean unless you are as oblivious as Dayton, after 15 years you should all know that he is never EVER going to change his mind, much less admit he was wrong. So you have to be doing it for the lulz. How many more of these threads until beating up on the retard starts to lose its humor value?
So pre-marital sex causes racism, obesity, poverty, homelessness, depression, suicide, oil dependence, and immigration? Jesus drank wine. does that mean you condemn him as well and in your eyes that makes you better than him?
I learned in Krav Maga that open-palm strikes are more effective anyway. That's actually a fairly standard conservative narrative, not merely a Daytonism. And there's alot of truth to it. But obviously the "solution" of returning to 1950's social norms is unacceptable.
