When you're told by multiple people what goes on there you can stand there and say "nuh uh" all you want, it's not going to change reality. Over the years I've probably seen a dozen or more people try to tell you guys of the bias there and all you guys do is circle the wagons and pretend like everyone is crazy...or just crying because they got banned.

The problem is, they don't get the echo chamber's standing ovations there that they did here. There can be no reason for that other than "bias."

Any place with heavy moderation is going to involve an element of bias. It's too subjective to not have that element. But TrekBBS in the T'Bonz era is nowhere near as bad as some places. There's a place I post at where the moderator tends to lock a thread after a single off topic post. I mean, that's medicine worse than the disease.

I can't speak for Awesome Possum, just because he/she arrived long after my time, but:

One, anybody who has interacted with Frontline here for any length of time knows he's fair and honest.

Two, I co-modded with Borgminister for a couple of years, and because he and I had similar schedules, we usually ended up on the same "shift" (with Misfit Toy and Worf412 being online different hours and not interacting with us much). He and I probably had dozens of IM conversations (remember AIM?) where we would turn situations around, imagine them with different politics, different personalities, etc., all in an effort to minimize any effect of our personal opinions on our decisions. So I know he takes it seriously.

I agree TNZ is liberal as fuck these days, which is one reason I don't go there much. (Some of them think I'M a conservative, fer chrissakes, and I have more fun being a lefty.) But whatever the structural reasons for that, it's going to be something more complicated than simple ideologically based moderator bias.

I wouldn't say that. I would say that, based on my experience with two out of the three people involved, I think whatever's going on is more systemic than just "the mods harass people they disagree with."
