I can't wait for him to say (thinking Steven Segal or Arnold S. catch-phrase style) "time to play my trump card." :elwood:

A former boss of mine worked for Trump and he said that Trump always structured his business deals so that you took all of the risk, while Trump got the profits. It'll be interesting to see if anyone digs up what his con is in running for president.

He's filed for bankruptcy at least once, and most of the things you see that are named after him, aren't owned by him at all. He just licenses his name to the hotel/casino.

Trump is mostly in the business of selling the Trump name. So I'd say there's probably no scam, just an effort to raise the value of the Trump™ brand.

Well, I'd consider entering the Presidential race with no real intention of actually taking the job if you get the nomination to be a con, but to be precise, he's not the kind of guy to take a high profile action just to "raise his brand," he's got a specific reason for choosing this method to get more attention to himself. The question is: What is it?

I think it's probably just something he sees as a particularly fun way of keeping his name in the public eye. He probably fantasizes about being President, even though he knows he can't win, and running is something he can easily afford and is part of the fantasy. Even beyond fantasy fulfilment, he adores having the press cover his political statements. I also do think he'd accept the nomination if he gets it, even though that's not the point of his campaign.
