Wow! That's pretty big news. I understand he's going to be playing a Gotham PD cop who's a law-and-order zealot.
Are you a fan of Mr. Terrific? Arrow's doing a take on him - apparently a young version - in the upcoming season http://variety.com/2015/tv/news/arrow-mr-terrific-echo-kellum-season-4-1201543026/
The Constantine Arrow crossover is happening. http://www.darkhorizons.com/news/38311/it-s-official-constantine-will-come-to-arrow
And the Flash appears to be going all in for the concept of the multiverse - the Flash of Two Worlds was highlighted by the production team today.
There's going to be a DC universe sitcom called "Powerless". http://www.darkhorizons.com/news/38379/a-dc-character-sitcom-in-the-works
Lame character, lame TV version. At least Smallville could occasionally get a good-looking comic character:
Yeah, a little too much if you ask me. Fate is a freakin' awesome character but he's so seldom handled properly. The last Justice Society book got it right, at least until the New 52 came along and fucked everything up.
So, The Flash and Arrow debuted this week and while there was nothing completely fantastic, there were some high points and interesting set-ups...spoilers ahead.... * At one point Joe and Barry exchange dialog which implies Grod is afield and occasionally dropping bodies * They explain, more or less, why the Ronnie half of Firestorm isn't part of the "Legends" cast * Not-Harrison-Wells left a video clearing Barry's dad, who hits the road almost immediately * Barry apparently owns Star Labs which is definably not what I'd assume from the comics, might have made more sense to have Ray or some other DC character turn out to have a stake in it just in case they want to go there later (or if you want to be REALLY cool have Wayne Industries have bought it out of recievership or something and have Luscious Fox drop by to tell Barry he has autonomy and all the budget they need) * Jay Garrick shows up at the end, warning about Zoom. * good line early in the Arrow ep about Felicity's cooking * they went full GREEN Arrow as basically the equivilant of Clark Kent's glasses (i.e. all of Star City is supposed to not notice this is really the same guy as before) * major suspension of disbelief that Laurel and Speedy got that good that fast in terms of CQC but hey, it's a comic book show right? * some interesting flashback material as it has to do with Wallar putting a lot of things in motion * Excellent casting on Damian Darhk who's given a lot of scenery chewing dialog and revels in it. * Oliver at one point mentions Darhk's power is "mystical" presumably teasing the Constantine appearance (still mystified that CW didn't opt to integrate Constantine into their schedule given both the DC ties and their shows like Supernatural) * the flash-forward at the end sets up the usual speculation - who's dead? there's only a limited number of remaining female cast member to kill off. Probably Thea, I doubt they have the stones to kill Felicity. Plus, with mysticism involved maybe whoever they kill doesn't stay dead.
but cannon Speedy wasn't his sister, right? The only one I know about is the one who became Red Arrow and...then Arsenal? I need to look it up - but was a guy, unrelated, the whole time unless there's a second Speedy in the vein of the succession of Robins.
I don't remember exactly but I think he was his little brother. Or he wasn't. Anyway the show has been playing on Speedy's drug use, so maybe that's something that will be used.
Anyone watch Supergirl? I didn't think it was bad. It seemed kind of rushed, but it kept my attention.
The huge problem I have with Supergirl is the idiocy of casting of Calista Flockhart as the asshole boss. Calista's husband is Harrison Ford - who knows Luke Skywalker - who is the son of Darth Vader - who can kick Superman's ass because Superman is no match for the power of the Force. So now every time Calista argues with Melissa Benoist, I'll be thinking "Force choke that Kryptonian bitch!"
The consensus among the average viewer (i.e., non-critic), which you can gloss over at your favorite illegal torrent site.
I watched it back when it was leaked. Had the basic flaws that come with the burden of being a pilot, in terms of cramming in a lot of groundwork. But had a nice charm to it and I doubt the creative team has it in them to screw it up.
