If Voyager was early regular Mexican food diarrhea with shit still in it, Nemeshits was late stage flu diarrhea that's nothing left but hot water that burns your starfish hole, and white foam at the end of the last squeeze. We always gotta remember how low Trek actually can sink.
Yeah, Nemesis really upped the ante on shitty Star Trek. I mean, Admiral Janeway? Admiral? And Jean-Luc Picard, who is actually a pretty decent captain in the Trekverse, reports to her? What. The. Fuck.
It's not unreasonable to think that Janeway would be eager for a job on Earth after her extended adventure in deep space. And, though Picard has had opportunities to get promoted, being captain is clearly the job he wants. So, yeah, he now reports to her.
It certainly makes sense that they're keeping her on Earth and allow him to captain a ship. But I don't see why she should have the higher rank, as we've often seen "Captains" running around headquarters.
My reaction to learning that Janeway was an admiral was about the same as Khan's reaction when he learned that Kirk was an admiral...
one thing I'm hoping for - Fuller worked before on Wonderfalls (IIRC) with Weadon protege Tim Minear who's never touched anything that I didn't enjoy watching immensely (AFAIK) and he's a rather rabid Trek fan from childhood so...it would be a source of near orgasmic joy for me to find out Fuller brought Minear on board.
He did indeed, which is the only reason I hold out some form of hope. Wonderfalls was a bizarre, underrated and absolutely wonderful television series.
I knew I recognized that name. I just looked him up, he worked on a lot of good shit. If they bring him in, we just might get a good Trek show.
Her trying to get an admiralty would've actually made for a fun short-run show, one of the most incompetent captains using her wiles to climb the greasy pole via sex, blackmail and legal threats. Star Trek goes satirical sitcom!
I kind of like the idea that she was kicked upstairs and is an example of one of those crazy admirals from TOS.
or a Trek version of Scandal with Janeway as the ambitions political climber and some other character as the savvy person trying to bring her down. (as if TPTB would ever let one of their Captain-heroes be tarnished by flipping then into the negative position)
I've settled, I think, on an actor for my desired (but likely never to be seen) Captain Pike series http://www.imdb.com/media/rm80803328/nm2222175?ref_=nmmd_md_pv
Blackadder was clever... Well, except for in the ropey first series. Rewrite VOY as a Blackadder series.... Hmmmm. Blackadder 2 would be the easiest to port it to Janeway - Queen Elizabeth Chakotay - Blackadder Neelix - Baldrick Tuvok - Melchett Paris - Percy Seven - Nursie It would improve the series greatly!
Tony Todd is on the short list to star in it. http://spinoff.comicbookresources.c...-is-on-the-short-list-for-cbs-revival-series/
Doesn't mean as part of the main cast.....but I'd really not be complaining if he was. He knows his Trek.
That's what he's saying about the new series, but he is open to the idea if the character appeals to him.
Aren't these short online seasons? I would think that is not the same as a 22+ episode per year commitment.
Didn't he distance himself from the Axanar project pretty quickly once Paramount went after them, or am I thinking of someone else? This could be why.
I think that has more to do with the Axanar's inner working and their use of donor funds....which Todd has implied is the case.
