There is a good middle ground but none of the major existing parties are bothering to deliver it thus people will seek out anyone who promises to end the madness. That is an example of an actual decent middle ground solution which could work but which will never be allowed due to the stupidity and arrogance of the EU elites. Of course, they would still have to protect the EU's outer border and keep out all the fake asylum claimers and benefits fraudsters but that suggestion single handedly would have solved the biggest pro-Brexit issue yet instead the EU elites arrogantly refused to make any meaningful compromise with Cameron. Thus the current swing towards Brexit.

It is a problem of the EU's own making due to the arrogance and i flexibility of the Brussels elites. The non-EU fraudsters just compound the problem.
