Republicans have been working themselves into a raging fury over Clinton ever since she had the audacity to call herself "Hillary Rodham" during Bill's first term as governor.

She threatens their little world, which is why they've spent millions trying to destroy her.

She has corrupted the Democratic Party to an extent that may be terminal, and if she gets into the Oval Office it will certainly be the end of them. Some Democrats see this, such as Louis Farrakhan and Chris Mathews.

And she cannot lead the US because she LIES to everyone about everything. Nobody trusts her. Nobody believes her.

True words here, that people like gturner are too gullible, or stupid (assuming of course this elaborate dance is sincere and not just trolling) to pay attention to. The GOP is laying plans to basically burn everything down rather than be out of power.

The only question is whether they have the spine to see this through or whether it will collapse when enough of the public turns on them.

Trump's button pushing works to the extent it does precisely because the Republican base admires narcissistic idiocy.

Beyond that:

1) Demographic change strongly favors the Democrats.
2) Clinton is nothing like the right-wing caricature of her, and that's something the persuadables will see better over four years of a Clinton presidency. That will also strongly blunt the impact of ridiculous "investigations." Remember how easily Clinton made the Benghazi investigation look ridiculous just by showing up to testify without appearing like a caricature of herself? From the position of the Presidency, because Clinton's actually competent and pretty smart, we'll see a lot more of that without the need for her to even show up at committee "hearings."
3) Clinton is likely to be more popular with liberals and moderates in 2020, and she can't be any less popular with conservatives.
4) If, as is probable, the Democrats take control of the Senate for the upcoming term, then we'll have a Supreme Court and lower courts that actually enforce voting rights, perhaps even courts that take a hard look at gerrymandering. That will be the case even if the Democrats don't maintain Senate control after the mid-terms.
5) The Republicans don't have anyone decent to run in 2020. When you eliminate tea partiers, alt-righters, and anyone who ran for President this cycle, who's left who could actually win the Republican nomination in 2020 and be competitive in the general election?
6) Clinton is a much better candidate than people give her credit for. Look, for example, at the debates. Sure, Trump was particularly easy to manipulate into making an ass of himself, but no one could have done so any better than Clinton did. The problems with candidate Clinton are overwhelmingly problems with the caricature of Clinton, and that's simply not going to be as strong an issue in 2020.

I'd say the odds strongly favor a Clinton reelection in 2020.

The FBI can't leak to the other campaign because it would be giving a heads up to the criminals they're trying to put in prison.

So not only have we confirmed Trump's statements regarding the government rigging the election, it's confirmed that they're doing it in his favor. The FBI (at least the NY division) needs a serious shakeup. Had this been a case of the FBI approaching both campaigns with the information, and then releasing the information shortly thereafter, that likely would have been fine. But approaching just one campaign, and then waiting nearly a month until we're less than a week away from the election? That's interfering with an election on an unprecedented level.

You don't get it. They can't tell the Hillary campaign because they are the targets of the investigation. You do not tip off the people you're going to arrest.

Do you know how trivially easy it was to hack Podesta? He clicked on a phishing link because his Democrat IT people told him to respond immediately to a phishing attack.

Then, long after Wikileaks was dumping his shit all over the Internet, all his devices got hacked again because his passwords were in the Wikileaks dumps and he hadn't bothered to change them.

At this point even 12-year old Filipinos have probably hacked Hillary, Podesta, Mills, and Huma.

You are, in fact, not supposed to tell ANY third party to the investigation what you're doing. It's not like there's some law requiring the FBI to give information about its investigations to at least one active presidential campaign.

Are you really incapable of seeing why the FBI giving the Trump campaign a heads-up makes their motives look partisan?

But the Trump campaign needs to know so they can plan the transition and figure out how they want to proceed with prosecutions.

Except between all those, the DNC, and the State Department...Hillary's server is the only one we don't know was hacked. Maybe her "IT Guy" should have been in charge of the .gov cyber security.
