I'm going to assume that on the occasion that such a situation occurs, matthunter doesn't get in defense mode but just apologizes, makes a mental note and moves on. Lemme give you an example: after the Zimmerman verdict, a family friend of ours posted an article/ meme that missed the point about why folks were angry about the verdict. My mom told her it was offensive, and explained why and our friend said she'd never really thought about it before and took it down, in spite of the histrionic way I'm positive my mom presented her case with. Because being friends was more important that pushing a point about a situation that she as a white woman would never experience. Whether my mom wanted to be angry that it was ever posted at all isn't on my friend, who didn't whine and berate my mom for being angry or suggest she was too sensitive.
Yep, also don't drop in on special ed classes or listen to the murmerings of imbeciles, either. My time is valuable and I've become very selective and discriminating with my time.

You can try to deny it all you want, but the regressive left are the ones judging people based entirely on attributes they had no choice in (i.e. race, sex, sexual orientation) and assigning value to these, and making judgements on them. And when people dare to not fit into the description of the box they've assigned them, they freak the fuck out. It's also notable that the regressive left are actually calling for segregation again, or are doing the next best thing by making excuses for those who are.

What garamet said. One group of idiot kids at one college were calling for separate dorms. A group of kids who I'm sure are not familiar with things like the Negro Motorist Green Book back when we had no choice BUT segregation. Black America is entitled to their nostalgic idiot fantasies, the same as white America, but they don't for all of us.
That privilege crap is all part of that. Identity politics is by its very nature prejudiced and regressive. And the point of fact is that the calls for segregation are all part of that. Sargon of Akkad did a video a while back that was something along the lines of "SJW or Stormfag" that illustrated the bigotry of the regressive left quite well, since the rhetoric was quite similar between them.
That's the point, actually. There's this idea I've seen taking traction that we as a group were a lot more successful when we had segregation, when our doctors and store owners and such lived within our own neighborhoods and that with intergration being legal, those that could afford to leave did so, taking the community and history we shared with them. They think that a return to self-segregation could fix much of what was wrong in our neighborhoods. And I'm sure there was that element of "Look at me, I can haz cheezeburger house in the white part of town " But I also wonder if things were going that great in those areas why they left in the first place. It's basically the equivalent of Dayton's wet dreams about the 1950s nuclear families. And I'm not opposed to more investment in black communities. But voluntary segregation is too high a price for that.
And because no one looks at you and thinks "He's not white," you're so safe you don't have to consider anyone who isn't you. Congratulations for passing the Dayton Test: "It isn't affecting me so case closed."
Well, I imagine they left because of the money and prestige involved. I mean, black America was never anywhere near as wealthy as white America. Obviously. So leaving means there's a much bigger pie to get a slice of. And it would mean Final Acceptance of segregation, a game at which the blacks would always lose. Apartheid South Africa officially preached "separate but equal" ---- obvious nonsense. This puts me in mind of the immigration policy of the US and Canada, to name but two countries. If you're a medical doctor or an engineer in Burundi, say, your chances of being accepted are probably pretty good. Which amounts to a gigantic brain drain from extremely poor countries toward rich ones. If I were king, this would cease in, like, 30 seconds from now. That's why I have such profound respect for the professionals who don't leave. Especially the local-surgeon-in-hellhole-such-as-Aleppo who could have got out but stayed to help the helpless. Here's a wonderful example: Helena Ndume. Quite apart from the extraordinary life she's had, everything she's endured, and accomplished ---- she could be making a mint in the West, no question.
I don't perceive it as a problem in my own life, so how could it possibly be a problem for anyone else?
