The president was set by the GOP when Obama got elected. They flat out said in front of God and everybody that their goal was to make sure Obama failed.

They wanted his policies to fail. That is a quite reasonable reaction and goal.

They didn't suggest he wasn't legitimately elected or that after his election he was profoundly unfit to be president.

So what the fuck was the birther BS drummed out for, then? Because "not born on American soil" is an automatic disqualifier for POTUS the last time I checked.

"Vulgar" and "profane" are descriptions most commonly applied to verbal or written behavior, and somewhat arbitrary. My parents, for example, considered words like "crap" and "butt" vulgar. That's a wee bit different than forcing yourself upon a woman who isn't interested in you, even if you don't actually rape her. I've said before that I have no problem with Bush (or maybe it was Cheney) describing a reporter that they didn't like as "a major league asshole." I find that kind of honesty in a politician refreshing, groping someone else, however, is offensive.

George Carlin was vulgar and profane, but I didn't have a problem with that, he was damn funny and right. Vulgar and profane aren't necessarily bad things.
