It doesn't matter who they have as the public face. Trying to defend the indefensible is going to result in people saying some extremely stupid things. Republicans and Trump just thought they could spin and B.S. their way through these but that isn't how reality works out side of their propaganda bubble. That is why they are always upset and afraid of real news outlets because they actually ask meaningful questions about important issues and then call them out when they say something completely stupid.

The new communications director is some Wall Street hack named Scaramucci. He was nominated in January but held up by ethics investigations. Trump said fuck it and hired him anyway, apparently prompting Spicey's resignation.

Also I find it hilariously appropriate that Scaramucci is a clown from Italian commedia dell'arte.

Sean Spicer -- probably a fine fellow, average Republican, but put in the impossible position of having to defend Trump's shenanigans daily.

I'm sure whatever's next for him in life will be better.
