We're debating the science of transgender biology elsewhere after all but is it really so hard just to accept someone based on their own self determination without qualms? Technically I'm in the "normal" range and circumcised - and have never had a complaint about my man parts from my wife or any other women (that I know of anyway) but I did have an unexplained noticeable bend towards the left (as viewed from above) for a few years but now it's back to normal. For the record yet again, I think women should have equal opportunity & equal pay in all occupations but not necessarily by lowering any standards. I have no problem working for a female boss - it was very common in my personal military experience. Well, that's pretty much what belief is, accepting something based on a subjective take rather than concrete evidence, it's why people believe in religions, rather than rely on the fossil record so to speak.

Someone doesn't have to have surgery to be transgender, nor do they have to conform to our idea of what that means. Part of the problem is these words are the creations of people who never actually took the time to ask the questions, just created the labels.

Second, it is possible you would cause another person pain or discomfort for misgendering them. I'm not sure that was the point at hand, equality should mean equality but the problem is the dice are already loaded against them, much as they are against women, black people, other members of the LGBTQ community, the disabled.
