Reports are coming in that Smollett and his lawyer were talking to the prosecutor for the state.

Looks like a plea deal at the state level is coming.

It looks as if it finally dawned on Smollett that he’s in deep shit and the best course is to admit and beg for as little a sentence as you can get. Especially when he has to know that Federal charges are right around the corner.

I think someone's about to get written off of Empire.

On the up side, that's one less human being who is actually being harmed by bigots. On the downside, the same human being has now made it more difficult for people who have been harmed by bigots.

I have to say, hearing him admit it will be very gratifying, though, no doubt, it will be spun with a lot of "I was only doing it for the oppressed people in Trump's America" bullshit.

Excuse me? When the fuck have I ever hated on gays? I may have told hilarious stories about a guy on my crew in the army (who happened to be gay & black) but go back and read the threads - there's no personal hate against him. Just because "your people" think gayness is a perversion don't broad brush me. Granted you are too lazy to dig up any evidence that I don't like gays or want to limit their civil rights or shut down their lifestyle or anything else negative. I will say I have not seen you exhibit the same level of calling out homosexuals that you do to brown people. However, given how you seem oblivious to the prejudice around you I cannot say you would call that out, and your silence and lack of action if it happened around you would allow it to go on and be a silent form of support. In other words if someone around you was openly harassing homosexuals I think you would laugh along which encourages them and adds to the bullshit a gay person receives. I think you would probably rationalize it as good natured ribbing people sometimes do to each other, but it would not go over that way on the other side.

I use an Android phone, and since I use it for email, calling, texting, purchases, etc., pretty much how most people use their phones. If I click one "timeline" in Google maps, I can see my exact route when I use the phone a s GPS for driving. Not only that, if I'm and about, I can see where I stopped during the day. Google maps will show lines going from place to place, not the exact route, but will show how long I was at that stop. So yeah it's a little creepy, but at the same time it's now part of our lives with the tech we use.

side-note my stepbrother is doing time in some prison in southern Illinois right now. He has done time in Joliet and some other prisons too during his long, illustrious criminal career in Illinois.

This case does prove what I have been saying for a while. You do not have to install tracking chips in people when you can get them to carry around a GPS tracker voluntarily. I remember the right wing claiming Obama was going to chip us all, but it never made any sense when by that time all the people who feared him doing this were carrying around phones everywhere.

NO...he's talking about if police didn't put anything together, the white suspect they might've found hypothetically would've rotted in jail. Like the primary suspect they had for the Elizabeth Smart kidnapping who was not only entirely innocent but didn't even know the lunatic who did snatch her up.

As an aside: I was so very impressed by all the virtue expressed in that thread; up to that point I'd never realized the full extent of awesomeness possessed by so many WF elites, and the fury with which they came down on the troll was just mind blowing. Wf lefties embiggen us all.
