LOL, I found a story that will definitely resonate with the soyboy beta cuck sexually confused cross dressers infesting this site. A lame-o low-T soyboy, taking inspiration from Robert Pattinson making the brave and stunning decision that he will make no attempt to work out in preparation for playing Batman, writes an article giving himself permission to be content with 98-lb. weakling status. I'm sure this will be good news to his wife's boyfriend.

Just a few weeks ago he was pretending he didn’t know what the terms Soyboy and Pajama boy were. I guess he didn’t want to admit he was both.

Why is Flashy so interested in seeing Robert Patterson's six-pack? :chris:

You know I kinda agree with him.

I mean sure some heroes need to look the part. Thor, Superman, Captain America.

But Ant Man? Let's face it..... if that character existed in real life he's not going to be in a gym working on getting abs.

Batman? I don't think it matters since we should never see Batman without his costume on.

I don't know how big Pattman is, but he should at least look believable in the ability to kick some ass.

Batman has no powers, only skills and intelligence...and highly-trained strength. He's got to look like he could spend his nights beating bad people to a pulp. Say what you will about Affleck, he's the most physically credible Batman (apart from the Justice League re-shoots).

So, hit the gym, Pattinson. :garamet:

You don't think it's important for Batman to look like he's physically strong enough to kick the crap out of all the thugs he battles on a nightly basis?

Not a single iteration of the character in the comics has depicted him as a wispy soyboy who would be out of breath running up a flight of stairs. Have you ever even read Dark Knight Returns and seen how he's depicted in that legendary story?

Actually, if you think about it, Superman should be the LEAST muscular hero. What the hell kind of exercises can he do that would let him build that kind of muscle?

Christopher Reeve and Brandon Routh, while definitely in shape, weren't super-jacked tanks. They were tall, lanky. But your point is well taken. What is Supes gonna do, bench-press planets?

There's no need for Superman to be so built. I think Christopher Reeve's size is sufficient enough. That being said, Superman is modeled after the strong men of the early 1900s so that's why he initially looked that way. The comics today don't portray him as bulky as they used to.

#1 Have you seen Michael Keaton in a Batman suit?

#2 Have you seen Val Kilmer in a Batman suit?

#3 Have you seen George Clooney in a Batman suit?

#4 Have you seen Christian Bale in a Batman suit?

The suit for those guys covered everything up. You don't need to see their abs. Hell most of their costumes had the abs in the design of the suit.

Affleck looked the way he did physically only because his bat suit was different from the others. His suit seemed more like cloth than the other suits for the previous movies. Affleck needed to be in great shape in order to help fill out the costume.

This is the new bat suit:

He looks plenty tough to me.

I don't need to see his abs.

It's a movie. I can accept it's Batman and he's a badass that while not on duty is working out to maintain his skills and strength to be Batman.

Well he could do body weight exercises. That will build up muscle.

Plus he's not from Earth so maybe all Kryptonians just naturally look that way. ;)

But The Boys puts it into perspective with Homelander who is obviously wearing fake muscles in his suit.

Yeah they showed it as part of the story of him training and than coming back.

    Big whoop!

If they didn't show it you would still accept him as Batman in the suit. He didn't make the suit look better by being in tip top shape. The suit made him look better.

Did you really need to see Bale's abs to accept him as Batman?

Maybe the sun builds Superman's muscles or maybe Superman uses that red sun chamber he used in Superman 2 to kill Zod in order to body build like a human.

I don't have a dog in this fight, but it sure is fun watching Flashy flailing around.

    Tobey Maguire: 5'8", 155 lbs.

Flashy's probably three inches shorter and 100 pounds heavier.

This Pattinson guy (and/or the author of the article) doesn't quite get it. It's not binary! There's a lot of real estate between "having six pack abs" and not being soft and weak. "No room for moderation when you are trying to look like Thor" :dayton: sums up the situation pretty well. And you don't have to be tired & hungry & miserable from training/eating healthy if you're doing it right. This is 2020 not 1920 - fitness science has advanced in leaps & bounds since then.

And why can't he look like he could actually do Batman kick-ass stuff and still be concerned about women's rights and respect them? Sounds like rationalization/excuse to not get fit to me. This guy needs a dose of Jocko if you ask me!

It’s a strange conclusion that lock down will lead to less working out. Sure I can’t hit the gym anymore but I see a ton more people out exercising than ever before. People are stuck inside all day. All I see is more demand to get exercise not less. But I guess Captain Twilight is content to sit inside all day brooding in the dark.

it depends on the definition of "working out". If you do a lot of lifting with a variety of weights or use a the stair climber or battle ropes or flip big tires over and you don't have this equipment at home, then if the gym is closed you may be working out less. If by "exercising" you mean walking around the neighborhood then yes I see a lot of that lately too. It really depends on your goals and abilities, but if the gym is closed some of my exercise just became more dangerous: I do my cardio (running and incline walking) at the gym. If I have to do my cardio in the neighborhood it's dark in the morning and I have to dodge cars - not safe! If I wait until I get off work it's hotter than hell, and at 58 years old going balls-to-the-wall when it's 85+ degrees with 75 percent humidity that's not safe either. Luckily I have enough equipment at home for lifting/resistance exercises so at least that isn't affected.

As for brooder boy if the movie producers don't mind him starring in the movie "as is" then I guess that's their business. If he ends up eating too much and looking like Gabriel Iglesias , then that could be problematic indeed.

Batman needs to look tough, but it would make more sense for him to look like a bouncer, and most of them don't have six packs.
