    Not yet.

But a very sound defeat on November 3, followed by massive lawsuits beginning on January 21 (for tax évasion, for reckless endangerment, for everything any good lawyer can throw at him...) that ruin him financially even if he manages to beat them, will do more to destroy him than any "scandals" that have happened so far, and that he has simply been able to deny as "fake news".

If he actually goes to prison as a result of that (which is by no means out of the realm of possibility), that will definitely humiliate him.

My personal desire is a trifecta: landslide defeat, massive lawsuits that ruin him financially, and prison.

My brother has a taste for looking up rules and regulations and such, so he looked up the parliamentary procedures for judicial confirmations. If he (and I) understand what he found, the full Senate can use proxy votes for confirmations, BUT committees can not. The Judiciary Committee has 22 members: 12 Republicans 10 Democrats. If Lee and Tillis are not able to attend and the vote is tied, the nomination, in effect, fails. Some Republicans have got to be wondering if they're going to lose the presidency and the Senate and lose their chance to pack the SCOTUS. It seems that people who sell their souls always seem to end up regretting it and Satan gets the last laugh. :zombieonfire:

Wonder if they can change the subcommittee rules to allow for proxy voting in order to get this through.

If he actually does get, I may seriously consider going to church again.

Or maybe giving Judaism an honest look cuz their faith encourages open debate and nothing is set in stone.

Either way, religion would be back on the table

Shocking and definitely not what I was expecting to see.

I expected it to come out that he'd bullied or bribed a doctor to say he'd taken the test.

Buddhism is awesome. It doesn't tell you what to think, it gives you suggestions on how to live a better life which you can study and decide to follow or not follow them based on whether you feel it works.

As far as changing the parliamentary rules on appointments, the way things are going they may not have enough Senators to keep a majority. :brood:

Remdesiver is good stuff, as long as your liver is healthy. Given that Donnie-boy doesn't drink (though he's got all the symptoms of a "dry drunk"), this could be helpful.

Actually, a steady diet of hamberders will fatten your liver, and fuck it up exactly as bad as being a booze hound.
Being a teetotaler gains you nothing if you turn right around, and shovel down the fast food.

    Posted just now on FB:

17 hours since his last tweet.
    There are 2 possibilities
    1. He really is sick and worse than the WH is making out.
    2. He dropped his phone in the toilet.

It looks like he tweeted shortly before going to the hospital and then again about half an hour ago.

If I was participating in conspiracy theorizing - more likely scenario is to act to infect Trump's inner circle (e.g. Hicks, Conway) rather than attempt to infect him directly. And of course, it's easy to add the hypothesis that China (whether from inception of the virus, preconceived for this purpose, or simply acting opportunistically after the accidental release from their lab in Wuhan) is behind any such malefactors.

Not a fan of the Trump show, huh? Pretty strong dislike over what boils down essentially to distasteful packaging.

I mean this sincerely because I like you despite your pompous wrongheadedness that's become so commonplace, I hope that you continue to have a full life and won't experience physical or psychological pain if (when, imo) it turns out that your worldview is severely disconnected from reality.

Which would be a reasonable interpretation of your outlook if your predictions end up as unequivocally wrong as they appear to me - bearing in mind that I'm a consumer of *both* tiny slivers of reality, of the day's events as presented by the media that informs your views as well as "right wing media." Plus, ya know, I can remember four years ago. NB in my worldview there's perhaps a 1-2% of a successful tax evasion case; there's a 75% chance that some well meaning nuts will initiate lawsuits when Trump leaves office, and such cases will have 0% of any victory beyond $1 award in damages (and just a slight chance of that); there's a small (say 5%) chance Trump loses in November; and there's 100% chance that Trump will humiliate himself in the eyes of his detractors and about 20% chance of such humiliation among those in the not-brainwashed world. Take a bow because your prison theory actually has an astonishing less-than-zero probability, which is an accomplishment for such a bright guy as you. Incidentally, what are the three top scandals (or just two, since I'd guess one is Woodward's "Trump tried to reduce panic about covid" bombshell, that being so fresh)?

Trump heard that that the pneumonia symptom of COVID causes fluid in the lungs, and he had flashbacks to the piss tape when he inhaled too deeply.

If they start changing rules to ram the appointment through it will make a stronger case for Democrats packing the court in future.
