This Dem is griping because in a fair annd reasonable world, this election should not have been even close. (Yes, I know that this world is far from fair and reasonable.)

Despite starting with tremendous wealth and the advantages that conveyed, Trump had basically failed at everything in life other than hosting The Apprentice, branding and drawing attention to himself. It should come as no surprise that someone who recorded (according to him) milllions of dollars of losses on the regular, who had to pay millions of dollars to settle a lawsuit about his fraudulent university, who had a long track record of stiffing contractors, who drove casinos into bankruptcy might not make the best of presidents.

OK fine, in 2016 maybe people thought he'd grow into the job. Or maybe people thought that Hillary would be even worse. Maybe people thought that an end to politics as usual would be just the thing.

But there really is nothing in Trump's track record that supports that and of course there's plenty to support that he is at best the same failure that he has always been outside of marketing.

Despite his failure and his inherent lack of character, Trump still managed to attract more voters than anyone in history other than Biden. That is a scary thought.

Another scary thought is that Republicans are going to continue the obstructionist playbook because they still have the lead in the Senate.
