I haven’t had any problems with flu shots. The shingles shots were not fun.

arrrg shingrix? you had that yet? It's new. I used it as an excuse to take the day off. Twice. Didn't get any sympathy at home from the Nurse (who is scared of covid vaccines).

Hmm, got a shingles shot about 10 years ago, which means I'm due for another. I'm hearing complaints about the new one. How horrible is it?

get it in the arm you use the least. sore for a couple days. Otherwise like a flu shot. maybe a little worse.

This one (it's a set of two) is supposed to be 90% effective for the rest of your life.

Eh...the shot itself isn't all that bad, but I did feel lousy for a couple of days after the first one and my arm was sore. I don't remember anything other than some arm soreness after the second one. I'm sure everyone's mileage varies. But I am sure that it was worth it to not to have to worry about shingles. The old shot was about 50% effective, whilst the new one is reportedly over 90% effective. The verdict on shingles is unanimous: you don't want it.

I've known a few people who've had shingles. They were praying for death. Will definitely get the new shot. Got my first pneumonia shot last month. That made me feel crappy for a few days. Or it could have just been a bad week for allergies.
