arrrg shingrix? you had that yet? It's new. I used it as an excuse to take the day off. Twice. Didn't get any sympathy at home from the Nurse (who is scared of covid vaccines).
Hmm, got a shingles shot about 10 years ago, which means I'm due for another. I'm hearing complaints about the new one. How horrible is it?
get it in the arm you use the least. sore for a couple days. Otherwise like a flu shot. maybe a little worse. This one (it's a set of two) is supposed to be 90% effective for the rest of your life. YMMV
Eh...the shot itself isn't all that bad, but I did feel lousy for a couple of days after the first one and my arm was sore. I don't remember anything other than some arm soreness after the second one. I'm sure everyone's mileage varies. But I am sure that it was worth it to not to have to worry about shingles. The old shot was about 50% effective, whilst the new one is reportedly over 90% effective. The verdict on shingles is unanimous: you don't want it.
I've known a few people who've had shingles. They were praying for death. Will definitely get the new shot. Got my first pneumonia shot last month. That made me feel crappy for a few days. Or it could have just been a bad week for allergies.
Maybe democracy lost because you touch yourself at night! Wow I should be a presidential speech writer. I think Tererun would be great at it too!
While there are some little pockets of sanity, generally speaking Staten Island is the Arkansas of NYC.
The United States set two disturbing records Wednesday: More than 200,000 new coronavirus infections were reported nationwide, and 100,000 patients were hospitalized with covid-19. The situation is likely to get worse, with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Robert Redfield warning that the next three months are “going to be the most difficult time in the public health history of this nation.” Redfield said the U.S. death toll — currently at 272,000 — could reach 450,00 by February. https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2020/12/03/coronavirus-covid-live-updates-us/
entire gop could be wiped out from covid but they wouldn't care because itd 'own libs' if klingons and romulans saw that they'd ally to wipe us out because that level of dishonor would appall them (also on principle probably)
We don't have to imagine. It happened here, in WWII. Patriotic Americans refused to black out at night, even as they were told to do so because Nazi U-boats were torpedoing US vessels as they were backlight against the city skyline leaving harbor. We lost 638 ships before the mandate was enforced to the point our merchant marines weren't dying due to US patriot's stupidity.
What was that movie where there was a disease outbreak in a city and the solution that the government used to solve it was to nuke the place? The rest of the world is going to start considering that option if we don’t get things under control.
