Would eating worms cause more people to like me? Because that is just another reason to not eat worms.
You know, I've always wondered about that. Me eating worms only hurts me. Either way, TGOCH needs to quite feeling sorry for himself. No one cares of he's eating worms.
First one slimy, went down grimy, Second one started to run. Third one greasy, went down measy, Foth wun stuck ta ma tung!
@garamet does herself no favors when she says something. I was going to say opens her mouth, but her mouth could be wide open and we would never know.
I have to remember that everyone does not take the care of presentation that I do. people think I do not put thought into my posts, but I do post based on what I want to result from my words. Sometimes that may be me just liking to say a whole lot of stuff. I do think about those things, but I may not agree with someone else's desires for me. In the case of federal farmer he really does not think about how another person will read what he is saying. You have to have some sort of respect for your audience and who they are. In that area I am not sure if FF does not have the ability, or it is that he does not want to bother with evaluating the audience. My wordy diatribes are mostly because I do not respect most of my audience so i have to explain things the long way. In a strange way that would seem to work opposite of my intentions as it turns off the dipshits, and the smarter people skip over realizing they already know that. However, on a personal level it is my way of dancing on an idiot's head, and I get myself off on that particular action. So really a lot of my shit is masturbatory. @The Ghost of Crazy Horse would probably do better to just realize he is saying a lot of what he says for himself, that way he would get less frustrated when people don't get it. Look Federal farmer, how much has ignoring garamet effected my posting? I don't ignore you or oldfella because you inspire me to say some shit, and I enjoy saying shit. @garamet is just a shitty foil. I probably agree with some of her points of view. She is just a conversation killer.
Joe Rogan has some views I disagree strongly with, but I'd stop short of defining him by them. There's no denying he's an intelligent man with a wide set of interests. His views on trans people absolutely come across as intolerant at first glance, but I don't see them as coming from hate so much as a cautious approach to the safety of athletes under his care. MMA is a dangerous sport by definition and I'm not too quick to condemn him for being reticent whilst there's still divided advice coming from the scientific community. I tend to see his position as being one of erring on the side of caution in his professional responsibilities rather than pushing a political agenda or a deep seated bigotry. Might be wrong. It's hard to overlook the wider positive influence he has had on women in sport without seemingly seeking to draw attention to the fact. Female fighters in MMA arguably have a higher profile than any other major sport which is no small statement given it's macho, testosterone driven nature. Whilst I want to see greater inclusivity for trans athletes I can understand why he'd tend to let other, less controversial, sports take the lead.
I think that is why he was not actually cancelled over his comments. One of the reasons why I actually like that joe rogan is out there is that he does actually look into the things in a scientific way. I wonder how much of his audience becomes tolerant because of his words. I would like to think that he is influencing people to not be trump stupid. But when I see him rooting for trump I totally get blown away. I really have to wonder why he ended up rooting for trump. I could understand not liking biden, because I don't like him, but I am in no way happy trump got any votes.
Yeah, his pro Trump position is disappointing and, I suspect, based in self interest. Trump is a major fan of MMA and it's not hard to see why Rogan as a business person would avoid upsetting a POTUS who was known for turning viciously on previous friends.
Trump-Rogan is the reality. Bernie-Rogan was the hologram. There, see how easy that was to crack? Didn't need Mister Spock to do equations or nothin.
His pro-trump attitude is where he loses me. That is holding up an abusive horrible person with no merrit. That particular endorsement shows me that there is something abusive and mean in joe. Honestly, it is probably the same demon I see in myself. I think he is a little higher on the hurt the world sadism meter than I am. He would probably call it being an alpha male or an apex predator, but it really is about hurting people. Joe likes hurting people, and taking people down. And he has to make a living and is probably well aware of who his audience is so that is what you are going to get from a cunning intelligent person in his position.
Are you trying to tell me you are simple minded? Is that what you are doing? After all the bullshit you pull you try this like it is intelligent and creative? If you do not understand what I am talking about I have the crayons and a song. You need to read more, but that's just science being dumb.
I really dislike the entire concept of motivational speaking. I'm interested in what some people have to say, but I'm a long way from being convinced that a rah-rah speech from anyone will change my life, or anyone else's. I went to a giant motivational speaking event in Tampa a few years ago which included John Walsh and Colin Powell. I enjoyed hearing them. Life changing? Not that I can tell. The same event included Zig Ziegler, which was really sad. He was, to put it kindly, long past his prime and was able to recount stories the way my mother would repeat stories over and over again. Very sad and exploitive. I got to see a speech by Norman Schwarzkopf, while he was still riding the wave of Desert Storm. Entertaining? You bet. That guy's charisma was off the charts. Life changing? No. I keep thinking about the Geico Pinocchio ad where he's making a motivational speech and tells a guy in the audience, "YOU have potential" and his nose starts to grow. That pretty much sums up my feelings about motivational speakers.
You’ll have plenty of time to think about that some more when you’re living in van down by the river.
There are ... two different expectations from motivational speakers. I think. 1. directed to individuals who are not only at a low point in their life, but are able to acknowledge it and are ready to change their life. For these types of people, the expectation is to change that persons life and set them on a new path. 2. Corporate BS generally served with free refreshments. This gives the employees the illusion work will get better because ‘now everyone will do better’ and everyone gets the morning/afternoon off(?) to socialize and eat free food.
I fully agree with number 2. As for number 1, I think that's how a lot of motivational speakers got started on their careers as motivational speakers.
Possibly. But I know when I was young and needed direction, a motivational speaker helped me. But I agree that if a person is not in the aforementioned position, the motivational speaker looks silly.
