Time's up. I found out last week that three recent staff departures were due to people not wanting to get vaccinated. The two from my department weren't as obvious because they found jobs in other fields before the deadline, but the last one from a different department was a straight-up "You haven't complied with the company's vaccine policy so today is your last day with us" situation.
Scheduled my Moderna booster for this Friday along with a regular flu shot. I suspect I'll be laid up with side effects the next day. Work is making us wear masks in the building again because of the new variant. I'm really sick of the fucking plague rats in the world who refuse to get the vaccine.
Mom turns 90 on Christmas Eve this year, and I won't be able to be there on her birthday? Why? Because I don't have a car, so I'd have to ride with my eldest brother to mom's and guess who hasn't gotten their vaccine or a booster? It ain't me, it ain't my mom, it's my fucking Boomer brother. Mom said, "I don't know what else to do. If I pressure him to get vaccinated, that will just make him less likely to get the vaccine than he already is." She's not wrong, but damn is it going to be hard to bite my tongue if mom passes before this plague is over.
