My company put out a policy update on Wednesday saying that you have to show proof of vaccination by the end of the month if you want to be able to follow the company's safety policy for vaccinated employees. If you don't show proof, they're going to assume you're unvaccinated and you'll have to wear a mask at all times, keep your distance from others, etc. Within five minutes of reading that email I'd sent a photo of my vax card to the station manager and HR person.
So the idiots at work sent the email Friday at 3pm that proof of vaccination was required today, Monday. Fucking typical.
We never stopped wearing masks at our company. We don't make vaccines mandatory which I don't understand seeing as that's a far bigger preventer of covid than a mask is.
Not really. Delta can still infect the vaccinated. You just get far less serious symptoms. A mask and social distancing can stop infection.
All versions of dayton have rejected common sense and logic, why are you still trying to load those processes?
The word Delta is a backdoor with TR. I hate to have to penetrate his backdoor and it's possible it could be blocked but I have intel that it's still wide open.
Once you get in his backdoor be careful of all the shit you find in there. I would just toss a logic bomb in and shut the door.
A pharmacist tech I know was telling she been called into work on her days off because the pharmacy she works at has been getting a huge surge of people getting vaccinated. She said that the increase is almost to the point they may need to start turning people away.
Many ATL biz are now requiring employees to be vaccinated to come to work. The idiots are finally getting the message.
They'll be required to get into Summerfest this year. We might be Wisconsin, but we're no Sturgis, North Dakota.
So the office, which had become uncomfortable with the number of unwashed people coming back to work is now empty again since they started requiring vax proof. Even the ones claiming to have been vaxxed are staying away. hmmmmm.
Mask mandate back in effect here in Oregon. Half-expecting my outdoor concert next week to be canceled.
I have been having some trouble with my 5g psycokenetics. Do I reboot the module, or should I take it offline and debug it from there? Oh, and have they gotten a fix for when you turn on the microwave and shit yourself? Asking for a friend.
We seem to be having a toilet paper panic again. I went to the store to get some and noticed that the shelves were practically barren of all kinds. Fortunately, I have a bidet, so I won't need to buy any again soon, but I'm wondering what inspired the raid this time.
Well, we got hit with the worst possible outcome - from the vaccine. A family member spent last weekend in critical care because of blood clots. Doc says 100% chance they are vaccine related, due to the size and age and spread of the clotting. In this area negative impacts are still rare, but more so than is being reported in general. Say 1 in 5000. .02% . If we didn't seek medical help it could be fatal. And b/c the clots were in the lungs it presented very similarly to covid or pneumonia. At the end of the day b/c we knew it was a possibility and waited the ER staff was able to diagnose the problem quickly and everyone is OK, though still a minor procedure, blood thinners for 3 months, bedrest for a week and no strenuous activity for 3-6 months. Looks like we got lucky in that the clots don't seems to have actually killed any of the lung tissue, which is also a concern. Our primary care doc said to wait, and she was right for this person. The rest of the family was vaccinated and are fine. So I'm still onboard with vaccination, but the law of large numbers means that some people will indeed be impacted negatively, as ours was. It's just a far, far greater risk to you and everyone else to go unvaccinated. I do understand better why some pro-vax governors are hesitant to mandates, though. If they order you to get the shot and you are one of the few that get sick, perhaps even die, hard to argue that isn't on the person that made the order, even if it saves far, far more lives in the long run. It's still the right thing to do, but yeah, I understand.
1 in 5000 what? Rates of clotting in younger women related to the J&J vaccine are 7 in 1,000,000. That's 0.0007%. Source
Vaccines run on the logic of the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or the one. But they also are distributed with some monitoring and instructions to seek care if there is a problem. We are also much more ready to deal with any small number of severe problems of vaccines over the large wave of problems caused by the virus itself. Your view is reasonable, but the other side is pretending the problems with vaccines are anywhere near as bad or dangerous as COVID. That is just stupid and insane. I sat around for the few minutes after the shot to make sure there were no reactions, and I was careful in the next couple of days. If there had been a problem I would have gone to the hospital and it seems like they could have dealt with the harmful side effects much better than if I was hospitalized with a severe case of COVID without the vaccine.
He said 'severe complications.' This certainly includes, but wasn't limited to, blood clots. My doctor said that in the mid-atlantic, that number is not accurate. As he's on the frontline , was treating a family member for the issue, and clearly had experienced this before, I tend to believe him. And notice I said 'in this area', which is localized, not universal. And that number was still .02%, which is hardly a huge subset, but in the law of large numbers mean it's going to be happening to some people. My speculation in the discrepancy; it could simply be that we are seeing it happen to more people with autoimmune disorders as they are now beginning to get vaccinated, while the original recommendation was for them to wait. In this case, that was definitely the right thing to do.
This is the way. Accepting responsibility for the good, means you have to accept responsibility for the bad. I don't. They should not have entered politics if they weren't willing to make the hard decisions. Also, I'm sorry about your family member. I hope they pull through just fine.
